In Brief:

  • PlayZap (official site) Games said its titles on YouTube Playables have passed 500,000 plays and 20,000 hours of gameplay.
  • The studio said all of its Playables revenue will go to buying and burning $PZP PZP $0.007426 ▲ +12.9% once YouTube turns on ad revenue sharing.
  • YouTube hasn’t switched that on for PlayZap yet, so the buyback has no money behind it so far.

PlayZap Games will put every dollar it earns from YouTube Playables into buying back and burning $PZP, the studio said on X. The catch is timing: the plan only kicks in once YouTube turns on ad revenue sharing.

The pledge came alongside new usage numbers. PlayZap said its games on Playables have passed 500,000 plays and 20,000 hours of gameplay.

“Once YouTube turns on ad revenue sharing, all of PlayZap’s revenue from Playables will go to buying and burning $PZP,” the studio wrote.

Waiting on YouTube

PlayZap didn’t say when it expects revenue sharing to start. It also didn’t give a revenue estimate or say how often buybacks would run.

YouTube hasn’t made Playables revenue sharing broadly available. Its developer documentation describes revenue sharing as a pilot with a select number of creators and doesn’t publish a rate.

Until that changes, the 500,000 plays bring the studio exposure but no Playables income to route into the token.

Two games live, five more coming

PlayZap has said the 500,000-plus plays came from just two games live on the platform. The studio has also reported more than 3 million app downloads and 25 million total gameplays across its catalog, along with 60% growth in YouTube subscribers.

On Oct. 12, PlayZap named five titles it expects to launch on Playables in the coming weeks: Rush Party, Jungle Fury, Scrub Tycoon, Bus IO and AstroLock. The Rush Party trailer was scheduled for Oct. 16. PlayZap billed it as the second of the five.

The studio hasn’t given individual launch dates for any of the five.

From app stores to Playables

PlayZap submitted its first game to YouTube for review in July. Google has to approve titles before they appear in the Playables catalog.

Before that, the studio’s games ran only in its own app on Google Play and the App Store, plus a desktop version. The platform runs on Polygon and pays out tournament rewards in PZP across casual titles such as solitaire and 8 ball pool.

Burn history

A buyback funded by Playables would add to burns PlayZap already runs. The studio’s 2026 roadmap lists a quarterly token burn at the end of every quarter and marks the Q1 and Q2 burns as done.

The roadmap also lists a burn of 20% of team tokens as completed in the first half of 2025. PlayZap has said it’s reworking PZP around a deflation model that pairs quarterly burns with staking.

The whitepaper puts PZP’s maximum supply at 150 million tokens and says about 5.1 million have been burned.

Burns go back further than that. In May 2023, the team said it would burn 1,000,000 PZP to control circulating supply. The plan at the time was to burn 5% of the total PZP invested in the gaming platform each month, capped at 50,000 tokens a month.

PlayZap ended its post with two hashtags: #GameFi and #Build.
