In Brief:
- Sky Mavis said the purchase site behind Ronin Wallet’s +Fund > Buy Crypto option is back online after fiat purchases sat unavailable in the extension and the mobile app for an extended period.
- The account attributed the downtime to “necessary updates” and gave no dates, no duration and no list of affected providers or regions.
- +Fund is the wallet’s fiat on-ramp, routed through the aggregator Onramper, and it’s the only way to buy crypto with a card without leaving the wallet.
Sky Mavis has brought the purchase site behind Ronin Wallet’s fiat on-ramp back online, restoring a path that had been dead inside both the browser extension and the mobile app.
“Buying crypto with fiat has been unavailable inside the Ronin Wallet extension and mobile app for an extended period due to necessary updates,” the Ronin Shield account, which posts wallet and account service notices for Sky Mavis, said on X. “The purchase site is back online, and will be available in the Ronin wallet’s +Fund feature”.

The post didn’t say when the feature broke, how long it was out, which on-ramp providers were affected or whether the fix covers every region. It also stopped short of calling the wallet integration live, saying only that the flow “will be available” in +Fund.
What +Fund does
Fund is one of four buttons in the redesigned wallet interface, next to Swap, Send and Receive, on both mobile and the extension. Onramper powers it.
Ronin’s announcement of the upgrade said the integration opened routes through MoonPay, GrabPay and 175+ other payment options. Sky Mavis developer documentation puts the coverage at 130+ payment methods, 120+ currencies and 190+ countries. The two figures don’t match.
The flow, per Ronin’s support docs: click Fund, enter a currency, pick a token, amount and payment method, review the rate from whichever provider Onramper selected, then click Buy. Users can switch providers by clicking the provider name listed under the rate. Onramper suggests the cheapest and fastest route it finds, but fees and KYC requirements vary by provider.
The purchase site
The standalone site at purchase.roninchain.com handles top-ups and withdrawals, converting between local fiat and USDC and finishing through a chosen on-ramp or off-ramp provider.
Transak and Ramp Network are the integrated gateways. Transak supports USDC, RON, SLP and WETH on Ronin, with credit and debit cards, SEPA and ACH bank transfers, Apple Pay and Google Pay depending on the country. Ramp supports RON, AXS, SLP, USDC and WETH.
Ronin’s older fiat deposit FAQ still describes MoonPay directly, listing RON, SLP, USDC and PIXELS. Availability of on-ramp services varies by country, and Ronin tells users to check the Deposit page for what’s live in their region.
Other ways in
While the buy flow was down, the documented alternatives were all indirect. Users could move tokens in from another network and use Cross-chain Swap, deposit straight from a Binance or Coinbase account through the Ronin mobile app, or withdraw from an exchange and select the Ronin network manually. Binance, Gate.io, MEXC, Crypto.com, BitGet, OKX, Coins.ph, Tokocrypto and Coinex all support Ronin deposits and withdrawals.
Background
The same wallet upgrade that introduced the Fund button also added SOL deposits, extending cross-chain swaps to Solana assets.
Ronin runs as a delegated proof-of-stake chain, hosts more than a dozen games and integrates native USDC through Circle’s CCTP. Sky Mavis is repositioning it as an Ethereum Layer 2. The Feather Fan upgrade activated at block 46,557,383 on July 3, and a Katana upgrade is slated for the third quarter.
Sky Mavis announced a Governance Dashboard on July 12, with a voting interface expected in Q3 that would let RON holders vote on treasury allocations and protocol upgrades. The team held a Ronin Forge meetup in Hanoi on Aug. 2 during Vietnam Blockchain Week.
Ronin lost roughly $625 million in the March 2022 bridge exploit, which began with a fake LinkedIn job offer that put malware on a Sky Mavis employee’s device and handed attackers four of nine validator keys. A stale allowlist from November 2021, discontinued the following month but never revoked, supplied the fifth signature. Sky Mavis raised $150 million led by Binance to reimburse users.
Buying is only half the pipe. Transak’s own RON page still warns the token may be temporarily unsupported for selling, and tells users to contact support or check its supported-cryptocurrencies list before trying to cash out.
