Thinking about buying Splinterlands cards to rent out? Type what the cards cost and what they rent for, and this calculator shows the payback time, the yield per year and what happens if the card price moves. It uses only the numbers you enter, because the public API does not publish rental income. Look up real prices in the Market Scanner first. How it works
- Net rent per day = rent per card x cards x share of days rented x (1 minus the rental fee).
- Payback = total paid divided by net rent per day. Yearly yield = net rent per day x 365 divided by total paid. Both ignore price changes.
- Resale = price x cards x (1 minus the resale fee). The game's settings list a 4% market fee, while live listings we sampled reported 6%, so 6% is the default here and you can change it.
- We do not assume a rental fee, rent level or demand. They are not in the public API, so you enter them.
- Splinterlands' settings currently allow a market rental of a few days up to months.

FAQ
How is the payback time calculated?
Total purchase cost divided by net rental income per day, where net income is the daily rent times the share of days the card is actually rented, minus the fee you enter. It ignores price changes.
What rental fee should I enter?
Check the fee shown on the Splinterlands rental screen and type it in. We do not assume a rental fee because the public API does not publish one.
Why include a resale fee?
Cards bought to rent are often sold later. The calculator shows what you would net after the fee, so you can see if a price drop would erase your rental income. The listings we sampled showed 6%, the settings file says 4%.
Does this predict future prices or rent?
No. It only does arithmetic on the numbers you type. Rental prices and demand change daily.
