In Brief:
- STEPN (official site) is selling the Marathon Season Pass for Season 3 at 20 USD, covering the entire season.
- The pass bundles STEPN perks, Marathon customization and additional rewards on top of the standard challenge payouts, and does not lower the 14-day completion requirement.
- Season 3 runs six rounds of 14 days, with entries locked at 50, 100 or 200 USD. Round 2 ends Sept. 7.
STEPN priced the Marathon Season Pass for Season 3 at 20 USD, matching the number charged in the first two seasons, which were denominated in GGUSD and USDC.
“At 20 USD, the Marathon Season Pass unlocks benefits across the entire season, combining STEPN perks, Marathon customization, and additional rewards,” the company said in a post on X.

What the pass covers
Holders get exclusive avatars, additional Marathon name changes and premium identity features, according to STEPN’s Season 3 breakdown. VIP status is included.
It doesn’t make the challenge easier. Pass holders still have to hit 14 out of 14 days in every round to keep their entry, the same bar everyone else clears.
In earlier seasons the pass could be bought at any point during the 12-week run, with rewards applied retroactively to weeks already finished. It’s non-refundable.
How the season works
Registration opened Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. UTC and closed Aug. 10 at noon UTC. Round 1 ran Aug. 10 to Aug. 24 at 12 a.m. UTC. Round 2 started at 12 a.m. UTC on Aug. 24 and runs through Sept. 7, with Round 1 finishers rolled in automatically and latecomers given until noon UTC on Aug. 24 to sign up.
Entrants pick a reward pool by locking 50, 100 or 200 USD. The tiers scale the daily requirement: two Energy a day at 50, four at 100 and six at 200. Players can enter more than one tier, and the Energy can be burned in either STEPN or STEPN GO.
Miss a day and you’re eliminated for that round, forfeiting the locked entry. Finish all 14 and the entry comes back, plus a cut of what the dropouts left behind, with automatic enrollment in the next round unless you opt out.
What’s new in Season 3
Insurance covers a single missed day. It has to be purchased before a round starts, is sold separately for each reward pool and is priced dynamically based on registrations and the previous round’s success rate. It doesn’t carry over between rounds.
Teams were rebuilt. Members can create or join a group with custom branding, team leaders can send notices and reminders, and every round pays Team Rewards in GGBoxes and Keys to top-performing teams. A Season Team Leaderboard aggregates team performance across all six rounds.
Enhanced Profiles track Marathon history, achievements, statistics and performance through the season. The challenge interface was reworked to make daily progress easier to follow.
Where the pass came from
STEPN outlined the Season Pass at its October townhall, alongside the Marathon Challenge feature itself.
Season 1 sold it as a premium reward track: extra Marathon Boxes, exclusive badges and backgrounds, Starlets, GGUSD coupons and raffle mints for Marathon Sneakers. Season 2 held the price at 20 USDC and introduced teams along with a team leaderboard ranked by total Energy spent.
The pass has also gated the season finale. In Season 1, holders who completed a 42-kilometer marathon or 21-kilometer half marathon inside the STEPNathon event window received a LEGEND badge, an exclusive background and a raffle entry for Genesis Sneakers carrying limited skins.
“Season Pass holders unlock premium rewards on top of their GGUSD and free rewards, plus eligibility for STEPNathon at the end of the season! Stay consistent,” STEPN posted on Day 10 of an earlier round.
