Final Call for Variant Customization
Owners of Variant NFTs are entering a crucial phase in the development of their digital identities with the commencement of Phase 3 of the Variance Collection. This final phase, active from February 27 through March 27, 2026, allows holders to make last adjustments to their Variants before these features become permanent. The adjustments available will determine the long-term value and utility of each Variant within the upcoming web3 RPG, Variance.
Dual Customization Options
Variant holders are presented with two distinct customization approaches during this phase. The first is a complimentary appearance reroll using the Kodo AI system, which is the same technology used in the initial creation of these NFTs. This feature enables users to alter elements such as the color of their Variant’s skin, eyes, hair, along with their facial expression, and clothing without affecting the core aspects like hairstyle and accessories. It is important to note that once a reroll is initiated, the option is considered used, even if the holder decides against keeping the changes. However, in the event of a technical glitch, a retry is afforded without penalty.
The second and more strategic option involves attaching a Relic to the Variant, which not only enhances its aesthetics but also its functionality within the game. These Relics, which could be acquired during Phase 2 by sacrificing other Variants, confer multiple benefits. They award a “Legend” title to the Variant, increase its Aura—a non-tokenized reward currency—by a fixed amount, and enable a significantly higher staking multiplier. Variants not enhanced with a Relic will find their staking power halved, making the attachment a critical decision for long-term holders.
Staking and Beta Phases
Beyond customization, this phase in the Variance roadmap includes several key milestones. Staking is set to go live on March 31, providing an immediate benefit to those who have attached Relics to their Variants. The end of March also marks the beginning of closed beta access exclusively available to high Aura holders and Genesis Portal owners, followed by an open beta and the introduction of a mobile client at the end of April. These phases are integral in shaping the final gameplay experience and reward system, which will be detailed in early May when the developers reveal in-depth economic strategies and game mechanics.
