Yuga Labs initiates community testing

Yuga Labs has launched community testing for a new resource economy in Otherside. This system includes harvesting fees for landowners and provides character advantages along with crafting capabilities across 74 onchain resources.

In its September 9 announcement, Yuga described ApeCoin (APE) as the sole medium for transferring value within the economy. Details regarding how these exchanges will function remain unspecified, as does the timeline for community testing.

Fee structure for landowners

Under the new system, players who harvest resources from another’s land will incur fees determined by the landowner. While this provision gives deed holders authority over their property, Yuga has yet to disclose fee limits or the mechanics of payment collection.
