Kepithor renames Karnage Clicker as GEMHOLD and redesigns the game

New name, same tap

Kepithor has retired the Karnage Clicker name. The game is now called GEMHOLD.

The studio announced the switch on X. “Karnage Clicker is now GEMHOLD, with a completely new look, redesigned interface and a new mining crew to meet,” Kepithor said.

The post also signaled that the core loop hasn’t changed. “You might recognise the tapping habit. The mine? Take another look,” the studio said.

Kepithor didn’t say whether the rename affects seasons, prize pools, the KEPI currency or saved progress. It didn’t name the new miners or give a date for the update to reach app stores.

What players already know

The game has carried several names. It launched as Kingdom Karnage Clicker. Its Google Play listing later read KK Clicker: Idle RPG, and the studio now calls it Karnage Clicker.

The loop is simple. Players tap a giant gem to collect gems, then spend them to hire workers who mine automatically or on upgrades that raise gem income. The game keeps earning while players are away.

Its store listing describes nine auto-miners, each with its own upgrade tree, and more than 100 upgrades. The older Kingdom Karnage website lists eight characters.

Seasons run weekly. Each one resets every Friday at midday UTC, and players climb a leaderboard for a share of the weekly prize pool. Progress saves to a Kepithor account.

Recent updates added offerwalls to the Upgrade tab. Completed offers count toward the weekly adverts players need to qualify for prizes.

Premium currency is KEPI, which works across Kepithor’s titles, including Royal Rampage, KK Heroes and the original Kingdom Karnage. Older listings called it KKT. The clicker also supports Kingdom Karnage Hero NFTs acquired in the studio’s other games.

Player reception

Reviews on Google Play are mixed. Some players complained about bugs.

One reviewer said the game “seems to kinda work now” but still reset their gems on closing. Another called it a good idle clicker with weekly resets and regular updates.

The app had been downloaded about 9,400 times, and its listing showed a May 18, 2026, update. A later build, version 2.83, appeared on third-party download listings in July.

Background

Kepithor, which used to trade as Kepithor Studios, joined Enjin’s Early Adopter Program in November 2018. Its first title, the trading card game Kingdom Karnage, went into beta in May 2020.

The clicker followed in September 2023. At the time the studio said it would add up to $6000 to the Season 2 prize pool.

Kepithor also runs ENJ Excavators, a similar idle mining game. There, players who mine more gems take a bigger share of weekly ENJ rewards.

The studio ended its GEMHOLD post with an invitation: “Come explore your new digs.”
