In Brief:
- GUNZ said its Discord server was compromised and told users not to interact with any announcements, links or DMs from it.
- The team later said it had reclaimed the server but asked users not to click any links there while it clears out possible phishing links.
- Its X account @GUNbyGUNZ is the only official channel for updates for now, the team said.
GUNZ said it has taken back control of its Discord server after it was compromised. The team told users to keep avoiding links posted there until it finishes removing possible phishing content.
“We’ve reclaimed the GUNZ Discord ✅” the team said in a post on X. “Until further notice, please don’t click any links in the server while we clear out any possible phishing links.”

📣 UPDATE 📣 We've reclaimed the GUNZ Discord ✅
Until further notice, please don't click any links in the server while we clear out any possible phishing links.
Official updates will keep coming from this account.
The update came after an earlier warning from the same account. That post told users the server had been compromised.
Wallet warning
In the first post, the team told users not to approve transactions or connect wallets through anything posted on the server.
“Our Discord has been compromised,” GUNZ said. “Do not engage with any announcements, links or DMs coming from it until we confirm it’s secure.”
“Do not connect your wallet or sign anything from a Discord link,” the post said. “Official updates will come from this account ONLY.”
GUNZ hasn’t said how attackers got into the server or how long they held it. It also hasn’t said whether any users clicked malicious links or lost funds. No fix date was given for when links in the server would be safe to use again.
X is the official channel
The team named its X account, @GUNbyGUNZ, as the only source of official information while the cleanup is underway. “Official updates will keep coming from this account,” the second post said.
That leaves the project’s main community hub restricted for now. Users can be in the server, but the team doesn’t want them clicking anything posted there.
Timing
The breach comes during a busy month for the project. Gunzilla Games has said Off The Grid will reach full release in October 2026, two years after the shooter entered early access on Oct. 8, 2024, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
“October 2026, Off The Grid (official site) hits full release and the on-chain economy scales with it,” the GUNZ account said in an earlier post. Gunzilla hasn’t confirmed an exact launch day.
The studio’s roadmap runs from June to October 2026. It covers performance and weapon balance work, followed by Legendary Weapons, Marketplace 2.0 and proximity voice chat.
Background
GUNZ is Gunzilla’s Layer 1, built as an Avalanche subnet. It runs the item economy for Off The Grid and the mobile game Technocore.
The GUN token debuted on Binance on March 31, 2025, with a total supply of 10 billion and 604.5 million in circulation at launch. It’s used for marketplace payments, network gas, staking through NFT validators and governance. GUNZ took the token to Solana in July 2025.
The project says 30% of monthly revenue goes to GUN buybacks. Full marketplace access requires an OTG Pro subscription at $12 a month.
GUN peaked near $0.115 on its first day of trading. By February 2026 it had dropped to about $0.027.
For now, the team’s instruction to users stays the same as in its first post: “Do not connect your wallet or sign anything from a Discord link.”
