How it plays
Players put together a team of Veras, the creatures at the center of the main game. They then “combine their abilities with powerful spells, and battle your way across Floki Island,” the post said.
Frontlines has a Trophy Road for progression and Rune Drops as rewards, according to the announcement. The post didn’t give details on how either system works or what Rune Drops contain.
The announcement also didn’t say whether Frontlines connects to players’ existing Veras or to the FLOKI token.
Mobile gap
The release gives Valhalla its first mobile-browser format. The official site lists the main game as “Desktop · No install · Loads in your browser,” and its play page says Valhalla plays best on desktop.
FLOKI has promised a mobile version for a long time. In March 2024, the FLOKI account said a Valhalla mobile app for iOS and Android would come “later this year.” The current roadmap lists a Valhalla V1.13 mobile app release for both platforms.
Frontlines is described as a mini-game, separate from that app.
Recent changes to the main game
The mini-game follows soon after a large patch to the core game. On Oct. 26, FLOKI said version 1.13.2, named “Special Delivery,” was live on mainnet.
That update gives every Vera its full set of abilities from the start. It also removes the Vera Condition system, which had cut stats by up to 50% after lost Ranked or Tournament matches.
Chest drop rates went from 50% to 100%. The patch also dropped the pre-battle Battle Arsenal step, added sign-in through Google, WeChat, email or phone number, and sends rewards earned in play straight to a player’s inbox.
Game documentation says players don’t need to buy $FLOKI to start, though holding FLOKI or xFLOKI gives tier advantages.
Background
FLOKI launched Valhalla on mainnet on June 30, 2025, after more than three years of development. The game runs on opBNB.
In the main game, players explore Floki Island, tame wild Veras with amulets and field teams of up to three in simultaneous-turn battles on hexagonal arenas. Each Vera brings its species kit and an equipped rune ability.
FLOKI reported more than 100,000 Veras minted on-chain in the first week after the mainnet launch.
