In Brief:

  • Farming Season (official site) said Oct. 27 that it has frozen 5,578 farms for cheating, most of them tied to bot networks.
  • The team said 7,235,809 SEASON from frozen balances has already gone back into the reward pool, with about 2 million more to follow in the coming days.
  • All SEASON rewards are paid from one shared pool, so each cheating farm takes rewards that would otherwise go to players who play by hand.

Farming Season has frozen 5,578 farms caught cheating and returned 7,235,809 SEASON from their balances to the game’s reward pool, the team said in an Oct. 27 post on X.

About 2 million more SEASON is “to be added to the reward pool in the coming days,” the team said.

“Every day, people try to cheat their way into the reward pool. Bots, scripts, fake results. Most players never see it,” the team said.

Bots made up most of the freezes

Bot networks were behind 4,801 of the frozen farms. The team said they were “Farms opened in batches and run in sync by one operator. Not players, factories.”

Another 499 farms were frozen for forged results. The team said these covered “Fake battle results, sped-up runs, loot no real run could ever earn.”

The last 278 were frozen for scripts and modified game code, which the team said included “Auto-clickers, dodge tools, macros and edited game code in the arena.”

Balances go back to the pool after 48 hours

A freeze doesn’t just stop the farm. Its balance moves into the reward pool 48 hours after the freeze, the team said, “the same pool every honest farmer’s rewards are paid from.”

The player guide says frozen farms that aren’t reopened within that 48-hour window forfeit their balance to the pool.

“Every bot we catch doesn’t just stop draining the pool. It refills it,” the team said.

The team tied the crackdown to a new pool balancer, which it announced but didn’t describe in the post. “Together with the new pool balancer, this is how we keep the reward pool alive for the long run. Cheaters take from everyone. We give it back to the people who actually play,” it said.

Fair-play rules

The guide is blunt about automation: “Scripts, bots or macros running farms get them frozen.” A player can run more than one farm, but only if each one is played by hand.

The guide also says “Everything is checked on the server.” That check covers harvests, timers, purchases and battle results, which is how the team says it catches modified clients and forged arena runs.

Earnings are capped by Town Hall level, from $1.50 a day at level 1 to about $40 at level 5. Withdrawal limits also rise with level and reset at 00:00 UTC.

Pool economics

The game recently changed how it splits in-game spending. The burn share fell from 50% to 25% and the reward pool’s share rose from 50% to 75%. The 25/75 split covers in-game spending plus marketplace and bank fees, according to the guide, and energy purchases go entirely to the pool.

Before the change, the team said 255,199,250 SEASON had been burned and verified on-chain, or 25.52% of supply.

Background

The SEASON token contract went live on Robinhood Chain at 16:00 UTC on Oct. 19, when Season 1 opened. New players pay a one-time entry fee worth $1 in ETH on Robinhood Chain.

In an Oct. 26 post, the team said “In just two weeks, 20,000 farms have been planting, crafting, fighting in the Battle Arena and racing in the Arena Cup.” The Arena Cup has a $3,000 weekly prize pool, and the game also runs a daily $500 creator pool paid in SEASON.

The team’s anti-cheat post ended with a short instruction to players: “Play by hand, play fair, keep farming.”
