Oh Baby Games is both developer and publisher. The store page tags the game as Casual and Indie and doesn’t list a price yet.
How it plays
Oh Baby Blocks is a block-swapping puzzler with a yarn-themed, hand-drawn look. Players swap adjacent blocks and match three or more of the same color. Stacks keep descending, so they also have to set up chains and keep the board from rising too far.
Story mode has 24 bosses spread across four acts. Every one of them is a penguin in a hat.
Outside the story, the listing describes 80 hand-crafted puzzles across eight worlds, along with daily puzzle challenges. Four arcade modes are listed: Endless, Time Attack, Stage Clear and a Cozy mode.
Multiplayer and extras
Versus covers play against the CPU, local matches for up to four players and online play with cross-platform support. Steam’s feature list includes online and split-screen PvP, online and split-screen co-op, Remote Play Together and Family Sharing.
Players can unlock hats, character colors, block skins and board cases. There’s also a streamer mode that lets Twitch chat interact with the game.
The game has 30 Steam achievements and full controller support. English is the only listed language, covering interface, full audio and subtitles.
Specs
Oh Baby Blocks runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 and on macOS 11 or later. Minimum requirements are low: a dual-core 2.0 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, a DirectX 11 GPU with 1GB of VRAM and 500MB of storage.
The Steam page doesn’t mention tokens, NFTs or other on-chain features.
Studio background
Pasteur Tran founded Oh Baby Games and is its CEO. The studio raised a $6 million seed round in early 2023 and said at the time that it planned to build a custom launcher hosting multiple titles.
Its debut, the free-to-play kart racer Oh Baby Kart (official site), entered closed beta on Dec. 14, 2023, for Windows and macOS. At launch it had SpongeBob SquarePants characters for a limited time through a partnership with Paramount Global and Nickelodeon. A later 2.0 update brought a new drifting system, kart equipment customization, a reworked trickjump mechanic and a full visual overhaul.
Since then the studio has released Bam Bam Boom, a free-to-play platform fighter on Steam with online play and local free-for-all matches for up to six players. Other titles on its slate include Shogun Curse, Pawker, Flood With Friends and Prisoners Chess.
Members of the team previously worked on Age of Empires II, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Crazy Fishing VR and Magic: The Gathering.
