🆕 What's NEW for the Tournament:
🐡 Pufferfish: crafting recipes for all rarities…
“Team up for the goofy fish. You need all of them!” Chainers said.
What’s in the update
Pufferfish crafting and the Uncommon Pufferfish Food recipe are the only new items Chainers listed for this tournament. The announcement doesn’t say how each Pufferfish rarity is crafted or what inputs the recipes require.
The post also doesn’t break down the progression rewards or leaderboard prizes for Spirits Unleashed. Players were pointed to the game’s documentation for details on how the format works.
How the tournament works
Chainers calls the format Position Personal Tournaments. The docs describe them as a layer of competition on top of the regular farm loop. “Extra activity, extra rewards, not a replacement!” the studio said.
Players get placed into rooms with others at a similar level, and the room size depends on tier. Tier 1 rooms hold up to 50 players. Tier 2 caps at 40, Tier 3 at 30 and Tier 4 at 10.
Points come from repeatable farming tasks, and higher-value tasks earn more points. There’s no cap on how often players can complete them. “There’s no limit to how often you can complete tasks during the tournament window, so keep farming and keep climbing,” the docs said.
Two reward tracks
Rewards come in two layers. Progression rewards unlock at XP milestones and go to everyone who reaches them, whatever their rank. “Your rank doesn’t matter here — play, progress, and collect,” Chainers said in the documentation.
Leaderboard rewards go to the top 10 players in each room and scale with final rank. Chainers said those top finishers “get the best rewards.”
The two tracks pay out differently. Progression rewards arrive in-game automatically once the tournament ends. But top-10 rewards have to be claimed manually, a point the docs flag in red.
Mini-games and leaderboards
Tournaments sit inside the Chainers Games section of the docs, next to the mini-games. Heroes built in the Hub are the playable characters there, and players get one free play per day in each mini-game. More rounds cost $CFB.
The first win in a mini-game each day earns a booster from the current epoch. Matches also earn Game Points, which count toward a separate mini-game leaderboard. That leaderboard pays out monthly in what Chainers calls “on-chain soft currencies (internal currencies),” with the amount based on where a player stands when rewards are distributed.
Background
Spirits Unleashed follows earlier spirit-themed events in Chainers. Restless Spirits added a ghost crafting step that let players craft a Common Ghost from a Legendary White Ostrich and unlock the Uncommon recipe. Raising Spirits, a Pet Me event, opened Rare and Epic Ghosty recipes and offered a Legendary Litch Ghosty and nine Boost Packs as event rewards.
Chainers describes itself as “a multiplayer game you can jump into instantly” with “a rewarding creative world, endless customization, thrilling gameplay, and user-generated content.” The game includes NFT card collecting, 3D character customization, farming, crafting, missions and seasonal events.
The studio said in its docs that Personal Tournaments are “designed to make your regular gameplay more rewarding — with something for everyone, not just the players at the top of the leaderboard.”
