Complete weekly quests in Mission Control, plan your strategy in Mercenary
The post sent players to two titles by name. “Complete weekly quests in Mission Control, plan your strategy in Mercenary,” it said. The second name refers to Mercenary Battlegrounds, the community tower defense game.
What’s on the roster
The Alien Worlds website lists five community games and experiences. Mayhem: Alien Worlds is a turn-based tactics game on iOS and Android. “Build your squad using characters from Alien Worlds lore and battle it out in destructible arenas,” its listing said.
Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing is a free-to-play browser racer. Players race drones and use Alien Worlds NFTs to compete for leaderboard spots.
Battlefleet Armageddon is an auto-battler from Mercury Forge where players build fleets and fight in space for Trilium and NFT rewards. Development started in early 2023.
Mercenary Battlegrounds is a tower defense strategy game with multiplayer modes and NFT staking. Players who stake crew.worlds NFTs get Alien Worlds themed towers. The game is on Steam.
The fifth entry hasn’t shipped yet, as far as the listing shows. Alien Legends by Mission Control, a community-built strategy game, is listed for launch in Q3 2026.
Trilium on the line
Tournaments are the main way the Arena games hand out tokens. In Q1 2025, more than 1 million Trilium went to players through competitive tournaments across Milky Way Miner, Battlefleet Armageddon, Mercenary Battlegrounds, Outlaw Troopers, Meta Battler and AlienHelpers. That number covers all six games together.
Mercenary Battlegrounds ran its own tournament series in late 2025. “Mercenary Battlegrounds tournaments are live with six weeks of Trilium rewards ahead,” Alien Worlds said at the time.
The development money comes from Galactic Hubs. The program gives grants all year to teams building games, tools and events in Alien Worlds. It has also funded projects outside gaming, including the Starblind webcomic.
Mission Control’s role
Mission Control has been part of the setup longer than most of the lineup. The Alien Worlds site calls it a weekly quest game where players earn a share of a Trilium prize pool for taking part.
It was built by Mirko, a longtime community member and Syndicate Custodian. Players earn NFT Points in Mission Control whenever they earn them in Alien Worlds. Those points count toward the weekly TLM prize pool and toward Experience.
Players who want a bigger share of the pool can complete quests in partner games. A quest could mean winning a race, playing a battle or something else entirely.
The platform has grown since then. Adventures let players send NFTs out on objectives. A new one opens every 24 hours and runs for 25 hours, and any NFT sent out can’t mine or join another adventure until it’s over. Outpost Builder has players use their NFTs to build outposts and collect resources for MC Points. And with Galactic Hubs support, the team has been building its own mining interface.
Mission Control also has a governance side. The Shards players earn come with Voting Power, which they can use to back candidates in the Syndicate elections on Eyeke, Naron and Neri.
Mirko described the original idea in an interview published by Alien Worlds. “Mission Control is a weekly questing system, which gives other games on WAX an easy way to collaborate with Alien Worlds,” he said.
