New PvP mode debuts in Playtest 3
Axie Infinity’s latest Playtest 3 kicks off with a focus on player-versus-player combat, set against the backdrop of Lunacia’s ancient dungeons. This event, which occurs over four days, features a competitive free-for-all where participants will compete in sessions aimed at proving their combat prowess.
In this round, eight players will battle it out in a five-minute match format, where the objective is to secure 10 kills or maintain the highest kill-to-death ratio. The map, designed specially for this playtest, offers strategic advantages including bushes for hiding and walls for blocking attacks.
Weapon variety enhances combat strategy
Five weapons are now available: axe, dagger, tome, bow, and lantern. Each weapon requires a distinct playstyle, with identical stats across the same weapon category to ensure that skill is the only determinant in victory. Players must choose wisely based on their strategy—whether to tank, dash for quick strikes, or control the battlefield with magic.
Three new features are introduced: a speed-up function for enhanced movement, HP regeneration when standing still, and a respawn option that allows players to select their return point after being defeated. Additionally, a new PvP power-up, a mushroom, provides temporary boosts, making the strategic use of the map and power-ups critical for survival.
Competing in the Trial of Eight
Players can engage in the Trial of Eight, which consists of three events yielding a prize pool of 2,500 bAXS. Entry requires 1 AXS, which allows participants to compete in each of the three events.
The trial format emphasizes kill counts and kill-to-death ratios, with further prizes determined by a unique “TRIAL OF EIGHT” spelling game based on player eliminations.

Interested players can access Playtest 3 by downloading Atia’s Legacy on iOS, Android, or PC. To participate, sign in, equip your weapon, and engage in PvP combat by following a series of straightforward steps established by the development team.
