In Brief:
- Sky Mavis said the next Lunacian Lounge will cover Atia's Legacy Playtest 4 updates, Terrariums V1.2 and unannounced work in progress.
- Itβs the first time a fourth playtest of the Axie MMO has been named publicly. Playtest 3 wrapped at the end of June after four days of PvP-only sessions.
- Terrariums V1.1, which added accessories, land items and Fortune Slips, is still the most recent documented release. No changelog for V1.2 has been published.
Sky Mavis said its next Lunacian Lounge will cover Atiaβs Legacy Playtest 4 and Terrariums V1.2, naming a fourth round of MMO testing that the studio hasnβt otherwise detailed.
βLunacian Lounge is back and thereβs a lot to talk about,β the team said in the announcement, which listed three agenda items: Playtest 4 updates, Terrariums V1.2 and βWhatβs cooking behind the scenes.β
If you want the latest updates on all things Axie, we will see you there
Neither the playtest nor the Terrariums version has a published changelog. Both have been folded into a single Discord session instead.
What Playtest 3 left behind
The third playtest ran four days and stripped everything out except real-time PvP. Eight players entered a five-minute session, and the win condition was first to 10 kills or the highest kill-to-death ratio when the clock ran out.
Sky Mavis curated six sessions across the four days rather than leaving matchmaking open, to keep queues short and to see whether servers held under load. A session restricted to Mystic owners closed the run on June 30.
The map was built for the mode, with bushes to hide in and walls to break line of sight. A mushroom power-up spawned at random and granted one of three buffs on pickup: movement speed, attack damage or HP regeneration, and occasionally all three. Buffs stacked and persisted until death. Kill a buffed opponent and you took half of what they were carrying.
Five weapons carried the balance work: axe, dagger, tome, bow and lantern, mapped to tank, assassin, marksman, artillery and mage play. A side competition called Trial of Eight ran three prize events in Dojo with 2,500 bAXS at stake.
Terrariums has shipped twice since June
Terrariums V1 went live June 17 and retired Homeland. The first earning tick landed June 19 at 07:00 UTC.
The loop is short. Activate a plot, assign Axies, burn Lunium each tick and collect bAXS hourly. Only Axies sent to the Atia Shrine produce Atiaβs Flame and earn bAXS; the rest sit in the Dojo and accumulate AXP. Flame determines each plotβs cut of a fixed hourly pool per land category, and rarity drives the number: a normal Axie brings five, a Mystic brings 1,000. Owned plots hold 30 Axies and free plots hold 10, though free plots donβt currently earn rewards.
V1.1 followed in early July. It let players equip up to five accessories per Axie, place up to eight land items per plot and buy Fortune Slips for a 10% Flame boost lasting 24 hours. Evolved parts went live July 15. The map was enlarged to give items room, which the studio has said sets up a future update allowing buildings and objects to be moved.
Sky Mavis described the design as βgamified staking that respects your time.β Grand expeditions, guild treasure hunts and boss battles have been floated for later versions. Delegated Axie support was cut from V1 and pushed to a future release.
The format
Lunacian Lounge runs on the Axie Discord Stage, typically at 11 p.m. Philippine time. Episode 3, recapped Feb. 6, featured Jihoz, Jase, Shade, Cruise and Pos2, and covered the evolution of the Axie economy, the first look at PvP and the decision to sunset Homeland for Terrariums. A March 24 edition handled Codex Season 1, Playtest 2 updates and how invites would be distributed.
Playtests remain invite-gated. Sky Mavis says millions have preregistered and thousands have played across previous rounds.
Background
The first playtest ran Sept. 25 to Oct. 2, 2025, with roughly 1,000 participants on iOS TestFlight and Android APK. Mobile-only access was a deliberate narrowing ahead of a PC build, with global launch targeted for 2026.
Playtest 2 rebuilt combat around a single Axie with a basic attack, an ultimate and a dash. Auto Combat was removed outright. That round also brought a 10-stage dungeon, five weapons and two bosses.
One detail from Playtest 3 hasnβt changed across the PvP work: every Axie in the build carried identical stats, Mystics included, with no passive skills and no stat differences from parts.
