Cambria (official site), the degen RPG, will launch its $RSGP token on Thursday 29th October, minting on Base. The date comes after the team missed three earlier launch windows.
The token was first planned for June, then moved to the end of August, then to mid-October. The launch is tied to a bigger change in how Cambria is played: the game is moving from its season-based schedule to a full MMORPG.
What changes for players
Initial access to the MMORPG will be gated through 4,096 Founding Charters. These are Ethereum-based NFTs that unlock full earnings, higher-tier zones and a share of the Crown Treasury.
Players can check their allocation through My Cambria Journey, a dashboard that adds up each player’s seasonal points, loot chests, NFTs and renown. Some high-profile accounts have been posting their results. Yellowpanther claimed to be in the top 1%, writing: “Top 1% in the Cambria past seasons. Been there since Gold Rush szn 2 with @GamingGridx guild. $RSGP is the ticker.”
How Cambria got here
Cambria launched its Gold Rush seasons on Abstract in May. Gold Rush is a risk-to-earn dungeon crawler: players bought keys with USDC and competed for loot. Overall wagered volume passed $41 million.
Sky Mavis co-founder Jihoz has also spoken up for the project, saying that “Cambria is an example of a project that grew a ton when integrating Ronin and then became multichain for even further growth”.
Charter prices
The entry-level Founding Citizen Charters currently trade at 0.05 ETH, which is below their mint price. The rarer Viceroy charters have a floor price of 0.29 ETH.
