In Brief:
- Captain & Company, the KAP Games pirate MMORPG, has integrated with Enjin (official site). Players can mint an Enjin Pass that levels from Bronze to Gold as they earn in-game doubloons and mint Enjin mXP.
- Enjin infused a 100,000 ENJ prize pool into collectible Enjin Pirate Blob NFTs, split among 50 winners: five drawn at random and 45 taken from the top of the in-game Piracy leaderboard.
- The tie-up gives Enjin a 128-player naval combat title, and comes days after Enjin opened Wind Season on July 28.
Enjin has added Captain & Company to its ecosystem, and players of the pirate MMORPG can now mint an Enjin Pass that records their progress on chain.
The pass is a collectible badge that levels through Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers as players earn in-game doubloons and mint Enjin mXP. It’s soulbound, so it can’t be transferred or sold. Enjin called it “a digital identity that’s yours alone.”
A new pirate MMORPG just dropped anchor in the #Enjin ecosystem.
Ahoy Enjineers, greetings from @capncompany ⎈

The prize pool
Enjin infused 100,000 ENJ into a set of collectible Enjin Pirate Blob NFTs to mark the launch. The pool is split among 50 winners. Five come from a random draw across all participants. The other 45 are taken from the top of the in-game Piracy leaderboard.
Winners can keep the Blobs, trade them or burn them to redeem the ENJ inside. The infusion model is standard Enjin: the coin locked in an asset sets a minimum redemption value, and melting the asset releases it back to the holder.
What the game is
Captain & Company ran its first season, The Iron Corsairs, in early 2024. KAP Games built the game around a split between two kinds of players. Captains own ship NFTs and carry the risk when they sail into a fight. Company players own no ships and take a cut of the booty when the battles they crew end in victory.
Battles run in real time with as many as 128 players. Company members fill roles including gunner, boatswain and carpenter, manning guns, patching holes and scouting targets. Crews level skills such as gunning, sailing and spotting, and results feed a global leaderboard that also gates entry to events and tournaments.
The game runs on browser, PC and mobile with cross-play, and it’s listed on Google Play under KAP Games. The studio bills it as the largest pirate fantasy MMORPG and as the first 128-player cooperative naval battle arena. Its stated design goal was to compress the loops of first-person AAA pirate games into something accessible from a browser tab.
Goldcoves and nuggies
The setting is the Goldcoves, which runs on a single global currency called nuggies. Players earn them by pillaging other players, completing events and taking part in the wider ecosystem. Ore and wood pulled off islands and downed ships go into building new vessels and cosmetics.
KAP Games says players should own the games they play and the digital assets inside them, and that Captain & Company lets players opt into that ownership rather than forcing it.
Background
The studio announced its move to Abstract in February 2025 and carried its play-to-airdrop campaign across with it. Abstract, the Ethereum layer 2 built by Pudgy Penguins parent Igloo Inc., had launched mainnet the month before.
Early access rolled out in phases. The first covered an on-chain loot economy, talent progression and a level system. The second added a game mode called Gauntlet plus crafting. The third was set for world bosses, land ownership and island governance, and the fourth for game store listings, community-controlled nodes and design polls.
On the Enjin side, the integration lands days after Wind Season opened. The third chapter of the Essence of the Elements Multiverse Quest started July 28 at 15:00 UTC and runs through Oct. 2. Water Season, the chapter before it, logged more than 32,000 quest events and more than 230,000 Essence points.
Enjin opened its announcement to players with two words: “Ahoy Enjineers.”
