In Brief:
- Fenris Creations named eight players to the first Conclave of Luminaries, the community body it created for EVE Frontier (official site), announcing the roster Friday.
- The incoming members are Brettius Maximus, Daemon Xel, Janus Leafshade, Kadian, Kollamma, Lacal, Michael JD and Ocky.
- The seating gives EVE Frontier a standing player channel to the studio as the game runs its sixth cycle on Sui, with a mainnet token still undeployed.
Fenris Creations named eight players to the first Conclave of Luminaries, announcing the roster Aug. 28 during its weekly Frontier Friday stream.
The incoming members are Brettius Maximus, Daemon Xel, Janus Leafshade, Kadian, Kollamma, Lacal, Michael JD and Ocky.
Congratulations to the incoming members of the 1st Conclave of Luminaries: Brettius Maximus, Daemon Xel, Janus Leafshade, Kadian, Kollamma, Lacal, Michael JD, and Ocky!

The studio congratulated the eight in a post on X and directed players to a dev blog on the EVE Frontier site for the details.
How the Conclave came together
The program predates the announcement by months. Fenris published a dev blog titled “Introducing the EVE Frontier Conclave of Luminaries” before the Founder Access 0.6.0.0 release in June, then followed it with a separate application information post filed under the same luminaries tag on its news page.
Players applied. The eight named Friday are the first group to fill the seats.
Fenris already runs an elected player council for EVE Online, the Council of Stellar Management, which has fed structured community feedback to the Reykjavik team for years. The Conclave gives EVE Frontier its own version, aimed at the builders who write code against the game rather than only at the players flying in it.
What else was on the stream
Friday’s broadcast went live at 13:00 UTC. Alongside the Conclave reveal, it carried the 0.6.9.0 patch notes and new video work from art intern FC Mannbjorn.
That patch lands roughly 10 days after 0.6.8.0, which shipped Aug. 18 with a reworked modular Reiver, a deployable sentry turret, a status effect called Temporal Desync and support for owning and managing multiple ships by boarding at a refuge. Patch 0.6.6.0 arrived Aug. 6 with the Transponder Beacon module, the Launch Bay module and the Heat Trap charge. Before that, 0.6.4.0 on July 22 added the Stuttergun weapon and a Thrust Overdrive module.
Two of the names
Lacal, of Wandering Order of the Last Frontier, has been building a mapping project for the Frontier. Ocky comes out of Algorithmic Warfare and has worked on third-party apps for the game.
Third-party development is the point of the exercise. EVE Frontier lets players edit server-side systems in real time, and its Smart Object Framework represents in-game entities on chain so player-written code can manage them. Smart Assemblies, the programmable layer, are written in Move.
Where the game stands
Cycle 6: Sanctuary went live June 25 and wiped the universe for the fifth time. Only Grace Points carried over, convertible into EVE Points.
Sanctuary introduced modular ships that start as a vessel “seed” and specialize through modules, environmental hazards including temperature extremes that make positioning around stars matter, more unpredictable Feral AI ships and LUX, a currency earned by looting feral drones and trading with roaming trader drones. Access was free through the end of June, then reverted to paid Founder Access accounts.
The chain layer stays optional. A live mainnet token remains on the roadmap and has not been deployed.
Background
EVE Frontier migrated from Ethereum to Sui in Cycle 5: Shroud of Fear, which began March 11. The studio had announced the move in October 2025, citing Sui’s object-centric architecture as a fit for tens of thousands of star systems, plus near-instant finality and parallel execution. It paired the cycle with a Frontier Hackathon running March 11 to 31 and an $80,000 prize pool.
The studio itself changed names in May, when CCP Games became Fenris Creations after Pearl Abyss sold the company back to its management team in a deal worth $120 million. Pearl Abyss had bought CCP in 2018 for $225 million. Fenris kept its headquarters in Iceland and its studios in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai, and said it was returning to a pre-2018 operating model with no restructuring or layoffs. CCP had raised $40 million for its blockchain work in a 2023 round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
“Sanctuary puts the core systems of EVE Frontier front and center,” game director Saemundur Hermannsson said of the cycle the Conclave now inherits.
