PlayStation 5 owners have a date range at last. Forza Horizon 6 is coming to Sony’s console in 2026, and the development team confirmed it themselves.
That closes the loop on a question that’s been hanging since the game was announced in 2025.
The wait had no ceiling until now
Back at the original announcement, the plan was Xbox and PC first. A PS5 version would follow. The developers said as much, but they didn’t say when, and that gap left room for the wait to stretch anywhere from months to 2027.
So the confirmation matters less for what it promises and more for what it rules out.
Japan, and how you get there
In a new post on the series’ official website, the creators stated that the journey to Japan will begin on PS5 later this year. That’s the setting Horizon is heading to, and PS5 players won’t be watching it from the sidelines.
The listing is already live, too. The game page has appeared on the PlayStation Store, so you can add it to your wishlist right now if you want the notification the moment preorders open.
Still no date on the calendar
A specific release date hasn’t been announced. The year is the year, and that’s the extent of it.
There’s a reasonable place for the rest of the details to land, though. It’s possible more will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which would be a tidy bit of scheduling for a game driving toward Japan.
What the announcement actually says
The confirmation sits under the “What’s Next” section of the post. No fanfare, no trailer drop, just a line in a development update doing the work that months of speculation couldn’t.
Wishlist button’s already there. The date isn’t.
