The White Stag is in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, and it hits back harder than the folklore suggests.
The Kingswood Hunt is a limited-time event running from September 17 through September 23. You track White Stag Encounters scattered across the campaign map, you fight them, and you get your own version of the royal hunt that Westeros has been mythologizing for generations.

Why a deer matters this much
In Westerosi folklore the White Stag (also called the White Hart) has long been tied to royalty, destiny and divine favor. House of the Dragon put it on screen in Season 1’s “Second of His Name.”
Viserys’ hunting party wanted the creature to show up as an auspicious sign for young Aegon. It didn’t. The true White Stag appeared before Rhaenyra Targaryen instead, and she let it walk away unharmed.
Within the story, that was read as another sign backing Rhaenyra’s claim to the Iron Throne. Dragonfire is now handing that same symbol to every player with the Events panel open.
How the hunt actually works
You reach The Kingswood through the Events panel and earn points by hunting White Stags in encounters around the map. Each attempt burns Resolve, a special event energy that regenerates over time and can be topped up daily with Gold.
No tile adjacency required, which is the detail that changes how you plan your day. You can swing at a stag anywhere you find one.
And beating one doesn’t hand you the tile. It frees it.
The stag fights back
Crowned Decree is the move to watch. It carries a 35% chance to deal 125% Physical damage and can Stagger its target for one round.
That’s a real swing on a limited energy budget. Spend Resolve carelessly and you’re buying Gold to get back in.
A very full year for Westeros
2026 has already delivered. House of the Dragon Season 3 wrapped up and finally showed us how the events at Tumbleton played out on screen. The Mad King play had a stellar debut run at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Dragonfire launched to critical acclaim as one of the best mobile games of the year.
2027 is stacked too: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2, a new run of The Mad King in London, and the launch of the War for Westeros real-time strategy game.
But the Kingswood is the one you can touch this week, and only this week.
