Its blockchain layer was bolted on after that acquisition rather than designed in, which explains its shape: no token of its own, and the crypto element limited to minting max-level Heroes as NFTs on Gala's platform plus event payouts in GALA.
What works is the underlying mobile game. Town Hall gating, the Stone/Alexa/Gold economy, Tavern hero summoning and Dragons that attach for passive stat bonuses are conventional but coherent, and combat asks something of you: elemental matchups and per-attempt dungeon resource caps mean the lineup you pick before a run matters more than your matching speed during it.
What does not work is that the game is effectively abandoned. The last publicly released client was version 0.5.0 in 2023, with no new content, no roadmap and no developer communication since. The earning loop depended on live events, so with those gone the Web3 half is dormant and any NFT is tied to a title nobody is maintaining.
