My Lovely Planet
What is My Lovely Planet?
My Lovely Planet is a mobile match-3 puzzle game that plants real trees. The studio's claim for it is the first mobile game that protects the Earth, and the mechanism is direct: for every tree planted inside the game, a tree is planted in the real world. Its first agroforestry nursery, in Madagascar, already holds more than 350,000 of them, against more than 370,000 trees planted through the game in total.
How to play
The game itself is a conventional and deliberately accessible one — puzzle levels, challenges against friends, and rewards for playing — chosen because match-3 is among the most played genres on mobile and therefore the widest possible funnel for the cause behind it. It is free on both the App Store and Google Play, and the studio reports around 25,000 monthly active players. Ocean clean-up sits alongside tree planting as the second cause the game funds.
Backing and token
My Lovely Planet came through the Ubisoft Entrepreneur Lab and is powered by Ubisoft's programme. It won the international "Unity for Humanity" prize, and Google selected it among its top Play Store apps for 2025 in the We Are Play campaign. My Lovely Coin ($MLC) is the utility token behind the ecosystem, positioned by the studio as a green token, with a whitepaper and roadmap published openly.

Our verdict on My Lovely Planet
My Lovely Planet is a mobile match-3 puzzle game with a reforestation programme attached to its progression rather than to its rules. Clearing levels accumulates Dewdrops, and the French studio commits to funding a real tree — planted via NGO partners, most visibly in Madagascar — for roughly every hundred levels completed. The blockchain layer sits beside the puzzle, not inside it: My Lovely Coin is an ERC-20 token on Polygon with a fixed 350 million supply, used for in-game purchases, unlocking content, staking to generate the off-chain Diamond currency, and voting on which NGOs draw from an environment treasury funded by a share of revenue.
The sensible decision is that the puzzle game stands alone — it is ad-free, works offline, and asks nothing of a wallet. The friction is familiar free-to-play friction: move-limited levels that tighten sharply and nudge toward boosters, and a staking loop with a real dollar floor before Diamonds convert back to MLC, which puts the token side out of reach of casual players. The environmental claim also rests entirely on the studio's own reporting.
It suits puzzle players who want a charitable side effect. It is a poor fit for anyone expecting play-to-earn income.
