What is Pixel Heroes Adventure?

Pixel Heroes Adventure is a free-to-play, retro pixel-art MMORPG built on the Ronin Network. The project previously operated as Meta Toy City and rebranded in 2024, and it was one of the studios selected for Ronin's Forge builder program. It is accessible through a browser dapp at dapp.pixelheroes.io and on mobile, with accounts tied to a Ronin-compatible wallet. Heroes, pets and equipment are recorded on-chain, so assets acquired in game can be held or traded outside of it. The client is not open source, and the game depends on the operator's online service.

How to play Pixel Heroes Adventure

Players create an account, connect a wallet, and assemble a roster of pixel heroes supported by pets and gear. The core loop combines resource gathering and farming with hack-and-slash combat, run across PvE stages and dungeon bosses, PvP battles, and guild-oriented content. Progression comes from leveling heroes, upgrading equipment and unlocking abilities. NFT heroes are optional rather than required to start; the Play to Mint page is where minting takes place. The team also runs recurring seasonal events, such as LandZ Arena and Tap Adventure seasons, which add time-limited objectives and shared reward pools.

The economy uses two tokens. $ADVTR is the ecosystem token used for staking, payments and governance. MGOLD is the in-game currency, with an on-chain counterpart, $MGOLD, trading under the MGT ticker after its migration to Ronin. A Token Converter moves in-game MGOLD to $MGOLD, and the amount a player can convert is gated by how much $ADVTR they have staked, alongside Withdrawal Coupons and Genesis HeroZ Collection level. A Play-2-Airdrop campaign distributes roughly 6% of $ADVTR supply based on accumulated PlayPoints. The project additionally operates an Adventure Validator on Ronin, splitting staking rewards between development, validator operations and treasury.

Is Pixel Heroes Adventure worth playing?

Entry is free and no purchase is needed to try the core game, which lowers the barrier compared with mint-gated titles. Meaningful token withdrawal, however, is tied to staking $ADVTR, and MGT trades at a very low unit price on a small circulating supply, so earnings are modest and volatile.
