Our verdict on The Six Dragons

The Six Dragons is a Unity-built open-world fantasy RPG from BlockPegnio, centred on exploration, loot, crafting and enchanting rather than on scripted story. The studio has worked on it since around 2015; an early non-blockchain build reached Steam, was pulled, and the project returned as a blockchain title after the developer demonstrated an Enjin Unity SDK integration at GDC in 2019. Items are ERC-1155 tokens, and a managed wallet lets players who want nothing to do with crypto ignore that layer entirely.

The loop is the interesting part: a 256 km2 map, procedurally generated dungeons the studio counts in the billions, 300-plus craftable items, and a "MultiSingle-Player" structure that keeps the campaign solo while opening shared Rift World encounters. Consistency is the weak point. Generation at that scale yields a lot of similar corridors, the presentation plainly reflects a very small team, and the schedule has slipped for years — a relaunch on the Epic Games Store in April 2024, a Steam listing whose stated window has already passed, and repeated asset migrations across successive Enjin networks that keep changing where your items actually live.

It fits patient players who value crafting depth and genuine item ownership, and will frustrate anyone expecting a finished, densely authored open world.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start playing The Six Dragons?
You download the game client and create a character, then begin exploring the open world from the starting area. To use the blockchain features you connect a compatible wallet, but you can play and progress without owning any NFTs first.
Do I need a crypto wallet to play?
A wallet is only required if you want to own, trade, or transfer your in-game items on-chain. General questing, crafting, and exploring work with a normal game account.
How do players earn in The Six Dragons?
Earnings come from gameplay: you loot and craft items that exist as blockchain assets, which can then be traded with other players. There is no guaranteed payout, and the value of anything you earn depends entirely on what other players will pay for it.
Do I really own my items?
Items minted as blockchain tokens sit in your own wallet rather than on a company server, so you can hold or sell them independently of the game client. Items that have not been minted remain ordinary game data.
Is The Six Dragons still active, and is it worth playing?
Activity has varied over time, so check the official site at thesixdragons.com for the current build and server status before investing time or money. It is best approached as a single-player-friendly open-world RPG you enjoy on its own merits, with the asset ownership as a bonus rather than an income plan.
