October Ticket: 15 exclusive spooky rewards. Claim it free from the main menu. Ends Oct 31.
Fame Season 11: 20 exclusive rewards for KOMPETE's top grinders. Climb the ranks now. Ends Dec 31.
October Ticket runs through Halloween
The October Ticket has 15 rewards that the account called “exclusive spooky rewards.” It’s free, and players claim it from the main menu.
It ends Oct. 31. That gives players about four weeks to work through it.
Fame Season 11 runs through year-end
Fame Season 11 is the longer of the two tracks. It has 20 rewards, which the account said are “for KOMPETE’s top grinders.”
“Climb the ranks now,” the account said. The season ends Dec. 31.
Fame is KOMPETE’s XP rank system, and players earn free in-game rewards as they rank up. The studio has described the ladder this way: every player starts as a Scrub, and only a few become a Goat.
How the reward tracks fit together
The KOMPETE Ticket and Fame rewards have been part of the game since its early Early Access builds. In the v0.15 patch notes, the developers said they had more than 60 cosmetics ready. That was enough to cover the first season of the KOMPETE Ticket and Fame rewards.
Earned cosmetics are one source of skins. The game also has a Limited-Time Shop and a Divine Shop, where players can buy items with Ethereum and the in-game currency $VOOLAH. In the Bazaar marketplace, players buy, sell and trade cosmetics with the $KOMPETE token.
The studio has kept the web3 layer optional. It calls the setup a cross-economy, meaning players can ignore the token side entirely and still earn rewards through Fame and the Ticket.
Background
Modernize Games builds KOMPETE out of La Jolla, California. Justin Meister founded the studio in September 2020. The studio has said he was frustrated with paying $70 a year for NBA 2K games that didn’t work well.
KOMPETE runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is free to play with cross-play. Players switch between games from a single main menu, using one avatar across modes that include Blitz Royale, Kart Race, Golf and Social Deduction.
The game entered Early Access on the Epic Games Store on Oct. 16, 2023. It’s available on PC, iOS and Android.
Season 11’s name gives a sense of how long the Fame system has been running. The rank names haven’t changed: players still start as a Scrub, and only a few will finish the season as a Goat.
