Microsoft and Ubisoft announced a partnership that flips a switch for Xbox console owners starting today. Bought one of the qualifying digital games? The PC version is yours, free, through the Xbox App on PC.

What you actually get
The deal covers a specific list, so check it before you get your hopes up. Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are both on it, which alone makes this worth a look for anyone who sank 60 hours into Eivor’s saga and would rather replay it at a higher frame rate.
Here’s the full roster: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs Legion.
More Ubisoft is landing on the Xbox App too
Microsoft also said more Ubisoft content is coming to the Xbox App on PC, including Premium Editions and DLCs. That’s the quieter half of the announcement, and it’s the part that suggests this isn’t a one-off promotion so much as Ubisoft settling into Microsoft's PC storefront properly.
Ubisoft’s own post put it plainly: “Ubisoft x XBOX leveling up PC for some of Ubisoft’s biggest games. Free PC access for owners of digital XBOX console games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew Motorfest, Riders Republic, and more. Premium editions and/or add on content now available on XBOX PC.”
The catch, and there is one
It only runs one direction. Microsoft said the reverse transfer isn’t possible, which means your Ubisoft PC library stays on PC. Nothing you own there follows you to an Xbox console.
So if you’ve been buying Far Cry 6 or Skull and Bones on PC all along, this changes nothing for you. Console buyers get the upside here, full stop.
Why this list is more interesting than it looks
Look at what’s on it. The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest, both live-service racers that live and die by input precision. Rainbow Six Siege, a game where mouse aim is a competitive advantage measured in milliseconds. Riders Republic, same story.
These are the exact titles where a keyboard and mouse changes how you play, not just how it looks. Ubisoft handing those over for free to console owners is a bet that people will keep playing longer if they can play the way they want.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sits in there as the odd one out, a 2D Metroidvania that plays fine on a controller either way. Take it anyway.
Check your library. If Watch Dogs Legion has been sitting untouched on your Xbox since 2020, it’s now also sitting untouched on your PC, and that’s a marginally better place for it to sit.
