In Brief:

  • Pudgy World (official site) added 12 new fishing holes, 25 new fish and new fishing rods to The Berg in a fishing expansion announced on X.
  • Fishing has been the game’s main resource loop since launch, and fish collection feeds progression and rewards.
  • The update follows Pudgy Penguins PENGU $0.007704 ▲ +5.6%’ decision to wind down mobile title Pudgy Party and make the browser game its main gaming product.

Pudgy World has expanded fishing across The Berg, adding 12 new fishing holes, 25 new fish and new fishing rods.

The studio announced the update in a post from the official @PudgyWorld_ account on X. “12 new fishing holes, 25 new fish, new fishing rods, and a lot more,” Pudgy World said, adding that more details would follow in the thread.

The post didn’t say where in The Berg’s 12 towns the new holes are located. It also didn’t list the new species or rod stats in the opening message.

Fishing as the core loop

Fishing has driven Pudgy World’s economy since the game went live. Players catch fish, collect them and feed them into progression and rewards, alongside story quests.

The expansion is the second fishing-related content drop since launch. In May, the studio opened the Obby Lobby, reached through a portal in Pengu Plaza. Its main attraction is the Treehouse Trumble obstacle course, where players climb through treehouse structures and can catch rare fish found only on that route. Players who reach the top get an exclusive trait.

The studio has added content to existing locations rather than opening new towns. The fishing update follows that pattern, spreading new spots across the current map.

The Berg

Pudgy World launched in March 2026 as a free-to-play browser game with no download required. Pudgy Penguins said at launch that players could “Explore 12 unique towns across The Berg, help Pengu find Polly, and play mini-games.”

Those towns include Pudgy Port, Pengu Plaza, Icebreaker Alley, Whispering Hollow and Pudgy Peaks.

Pudgy Party wind-down

The update lands a few months after Pudgy Penguins moved its gaming resources onto Pudgy World. In June, the company said it would wind down Pudgy Party, the mobile game it built with Mythical Games.

Pudgy Party launched globally in August 2025. It passed 1 million downloads and reached the No. 1 spot on the App Store at launch.

Pudgy Penguins said Pudgy Party “helped spread the Pudgy Penguins IP more widely” and created community moments it will “always cherish.” The company said Pudgy World is “on track to surpass” those milestones, with scalability and storytelling potential on “an entirely different level.”

Pudgy World is now the company’s main game. It sits next to the brand’s toys, animation, social content and NFTs.
