Ronin opens Yakkamon pre-registration with 3,000 first-come codes

Ronin opened pre-registration for Yakkamon and reserved 3,000 access codes for its own users, the network said in a post announcing the game.

“We have 3,000 exclusive FCFS codes for the Ronin community,” Ronin said.

Yakkamon comes from Thought Farm, the Sydney studio that built and still runs Sunflower Land. It carried the codename Project II through development.

Season 0 sign-up is free and asks only for an email address. No wallet is required, and players don’t need a Sunflower Land account.

No new token

Thought Farm isn’t issuing a token for the game. Yakkamon runs on $FLOWER, the same asset used across the studio’s existing titles.

Depositing $FLOWER early earns pre-registration points. Those deposits can be spent in-game or withdrawn tax-free once a player gets access.

That decision is one the team makes explicitly in its documentation, alongside its argument that five years of continuous operation answers the question of whether the project will still be running next year.

Three rewards, won three ways

Every trainer who signs up receives a Monster Egg. It’s an in-game item, not an NFT, and it appears on the player’s farm at first login with nothing to claim.

The top 5,000 trainers on the points leaderboard get a Monster NFT through the Trainer Point airdrop. The top 1,000 get Legendary Monster NFTs.

Pre-registered trainers also get access to a free mint of 10,000 Monster NFTs on Ronin, scheduled for Oct. 1.

The three rewards don’t compete with each other. A player can collect all three.

Rank decides the wave

Early access opens in Q4 2026 and rolls out in stages. Season 0 leaderboard rank determines which wave a trainer enters, and only the top 100,000 are eligible.

Signing up early doesn’t buy a place in line. Per the documentation, an early sign-up sets a better egg type and nothing more. It doesn’t grant early access, reserve a spot, guarantee a Monster NFT or move a trainer up the leaderboard. Points do that.

Separately, an unofficial player portal running under the handle @Yakkamon_World posted a code rollout tied to Sunflower Land accounts on Aug. 1: Bumpkin Level 50 and above first at 8 p.m. ET, obtained in the Plaza through the Yakkamon sign next to Stella and redeemed at yakkamon.com, then Level 20 and above the following day, with referral-code entry opening to anyone from Aug. 5. Those timings haven’t been confirmed on official channels.

What the game is

Yakkamon mixes idle farming automation with creature collecting and battling. Players hunt wild monsters, then put them to work gathering resources and farming while offline.

There’s gear crafting, a gym to build and arena battles against other trainers. New NFT collections accompany the launch, including the Monster NFT drop.

Sunflower Land counts more than 1 million players and over 100 open source contributors across five years of development done in public.

Background

Thought Farm Pty Ltd handles day-to-day operations and gameplay production for Sunflower Land and Bumpkins.io. Adam Hannigan is listed as CEO and founder, with the additional titles of game designer and solution architect.

The studio started as three friends working on a side project then called Sunflower Farmers. The game went viral in January 2022 and congested Polygon for a week. The community pushed the group to take it full time, and Thought Farm followed.

It was named Australian Blockchain Startup of the Year in 2022.

The team has also posted a warning as the sign-up window draws attention: yakkamon.com is the only official website, @playyakkamon the only official X account, docs.yakkamon.com the only official documentation. Pre-registration never asks for anything beyond an email address, and Yakkamon will never ask for a seed phrase or private key.
