Sunflower Land studio opens Yakkamon pre-registration with 5,000 monster NFTs on the line

Thought Farm has opened Season 0 pre-registration for Yakkamon, and the sign-up sheet doubles as the distribution list for 5,000 monster NFTs.

The trainer point airdrop covers 1,000 Legendary Monsters and 4,000 Rare Monsters, with rarer monsters going to higher point totals. Placement runs off leaderboard rank at the moment of the airdrop: ranks one through 100 get Legendary monster A, 101 to 500 get Legendary monster B and 501 to 1,000 get Legendary monster C. All three bands come with Wave 1 early access.

Signing up first doesn’t buy a rank. Early registration sets a player’s monster egg tier and nothing else, according to the pre-registration site. Points decide the rest. Higher tiers enter the game first as early access opens in waves, and ranks and tiers stay hidden until the trainer point airdrop.

Points come from completing tasks, joining the Discord and making community contributions.

No new token

There is no Yakkamon token. The game runs on $FLOWER, the same currency Thought Farm uses across its games, and the two titles share a centralized marketplace.

Players who sign up get a deposit address and can send $FLOWER on Base or Ronin, with a minimum of five $FLOWER. Every $FLOWER earns a point, and a larger deposited total unlocks bonus rates. Points land in the week the deposit confirms, which is enough to sweep an entire week’s task track at once. Deposits can be withdrawn tax free once a player has game access.

$FLOWER debuted on Base in April 2025, replacing SFL at a 1-to-1 rate as Sunflower Land‘s primary in-game currency. Thought Farm has never held an ICO and does not sell the token directly; the studio has said the only routes to it are trading with other players or earning it in Sunflower Land.

What the game is

Yakkamon splits into two halves. The idle half puts captured monsters to work farming, gathering and producing around the clock while the player is away. The active half is hunting rare creatures across regions including deserts, volcanoes and oceans that cycle through day, night and seasons, crafting gear, building a gym and fighting other trainers in the arena. Core resources and creatures are tradable.

Combat is real-time and speed-based rather than turn-based, and menu-oriented rather than MMO-style. The game is web-based and mobile friendly. Thought Farm has cited Temtem and Slay the Spire as influences and describes the result as a monster-collecting tactical battler with roguelike elements.

It is built in Unity, a break from Sunflower Land’s React stack. The creatures are original. Sunflower Land pets and buds don’t carry over, and Yakkamon runs its own economy despite sharing the token.

From Project II to a name

The game spent development under the codename Project II. “In 2026, the Sunflower Land team will launch Project II — a new game, a new genre, and a new future for the FLOWER ecosystem,” Sunflower Land said in the August 2025 post announcing it. “We’re building, hiring, and growing together with our amazing community.”

Thought Farm is a Sydney studio backed by the New South Wales government and has been named Australian Blockchain Startup of the Year. It added two full-time engineers in 2025 and has stayed independent of venture funding. Sunflower Land has since baked a roadmap running through 2028 into the game itself.

Yakkamon is slated for Q4 2026. Beta was targeted for Q3 2026 once core mechanics locked, and top Sunflower Land players are set to get priority access to the closed beta. The pre-registration site markets the studio’s record with “GAM3 Awards Winner” and “1M Players” badges.

The site lists 10,000 Founder Passes in total and a free Ronin mint of 10,000 monster NFTs as coming soon. One wrinkle for depositors: a $FLOWER contract does exist on Ronin, with a total supply of 20,000,000, but the Ronin explorer flags it as deprecated.
