NBA Top Shot (official site)’s Rookie Debut drop goes live on Wednesday, November 11. It brings the 2026-27 rookie class to the collectibles platform and is the first drop of Series 2026-27. Each Rookie Debut Moment is a play from a rookie’s NBA debut or his first career basket. This season’s set is minted to /500, half of last season’s mint.
The class has given the set plenty of material already. On October 21, the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, both early Rookie of the Year favourites, made their debuts on the same floor in Memphis. Darryn Peterson floated in his first career basket less than two minutes into the game. Cameron Boozer’s Grizzlies outscored the Jazz by 32 with him on the court, the best plus-minus in a season opener in franchise history. No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa got his first basket on October 28, an alley-oop slam three minutes into his debut.
Rookie Debut tiers and supply
Rookie Debut comes in four parallels:
- Standard /500
- Blockchain /99
- Hardcourt /50
- Galactic /5
The Galactic /5 is the scarcest Rookie Debut tier Top Shot has made. Only five Galactics of each rookie will ever exist, and for rookies who are partnered Top Shot Athletes, all five are signed. The drop has 38 rookies, and more will join the set as the season goes on.
Nearly the whole class is released at once. Between 95% and 99% of this drop’s Rookie Debut supply, across every parallel, goes into Drop 1’s packs. Every first-round pick in the drop has all five of his Galactics in those packs. A small remainder is held back for future drops, and each edition’s current supply is shown on Top Shot.
Rookie Ultimate and the other sets
Rookie Debut covers the first basket. Rookie Ultimate covers the whole first game: an extended reel of a rookie’s debut, minted as a 1/1. Three are hidden in this drop, with one each in a Premium Pack, a Box Topper and a Collector Pack.
Three more sets are in the drop:
- A set of the top play from every team as the season tips off, released complete in this drop. Standard /199, Hexwave /25, Jukebox /10. Completing it earns an exclusive Moment of Jalen Brunson and the Knicks raising their first championship banner in 53 years, on ring night at the Garden.
- Fresh Threads, which shows stars in their first games in new colours. It stays open through the trade deadline so players who move at the deadline can be added, then closes with its own challenge reward. Standard /99, Hexwave /25, Jukebox /10.
- Base Set, the flagship, with one play from every team and more added all season. Standard /4,000, Club Collection /99.
Rookie Debut and Base Set keep growing through the season, and completing either one earns an exclusive pack once it closes.
Everything is minted before ordering opens
All Moments across the five sets are minted, and show up on Top Shot, before ordering begins. That lets collectors check the supply numbers for themselves, watch each Moment and make offers ahead of time. Each Moment’s page shows its Standard and all of its parallels, and clicking into a parallel opens its analytics.
The analytics page includes a table of every serial. It shows who owns it, whether it’s owned, locked, out of circulation or still in a pack, and its price if listed. Offers can be made on any single serial, which helps anyone chasing a particular jersey number or a #1.
The Remaining in Packs view shows which pack each unopened copy is sitting in. Anyone after a specific rookie’s Galactic, a Jukebox or one exact serial can see which pack it’s in before ordering.
How ordering works
Getting access means getting the chance to order. Buyers still place and pay for their orders, and packs are assigned when ordering closes on November 11. Any guaranteed or early-access packs left unclaimed move into the public draw an hour before each close.
All quests open on Thursday, November 5 at 3:00 PM ET. Each completed quest is worth one more order. The first collectors to claim each quest get their orders filled. Finishing a quest after its guaranteed spots are gone still gives early access to that pack. Those orders aren’t guaranteed, but the odds are better than in the public draw.
Collectors can also trade in Moments, and the top bids win packs outright.
The pack lineup includes:
- Case Topper (1 Moment), Premium Pack (12 Moments) and 10 Collector Packs
- Box Topper (2 Moments, from two different rookies) and 4 Collector Packs
