What is Sorare?
As of November 3, 2026, Sorare is a live fantasy sports card game. You collect officially licensed digital cards of real athletes and use them to enter weekly competitions. Sorare started with football (soccer) and has since added other sports. Its cards feature football, NBA and MLB players.
Each Sorare card stands for one real athlete, is issued in a limited series and is recorded on-chain. Sorare was built on Ethereum and uses a layer-2 scaling solution for card transfers, so you can verify who owns a card while day-to-day trading stays off the congested mainnet. The game is moving to Solana.
You play Sorare in a web browser on desktop or iOS. The site supports Chrome and Edge 111 or later, Firefox 113 or later, and Safari or iOS 16.4 or later.
You get cards from Sorare’s own new-card auctions or from other users, then build a lineup and enter it for the game week. Lineups score on how those athletes perform in real matches, and competitions are usually split by card scarcity so lineups face similar opposition.
Sorare cards sit in your own wallet as tradable assets, so every roster choice also has a market side.

Sorare is a weekly fantasy manager game. You pick five player cards, and real matches decide your score, so the skill is in matching the right players to the right fixtures.
How a match plays
A session starts on the lineup screen. Five empty card slots sit on a purple starry layout, next to a grid of your cards, and each card shows a photo, a club kit and small coloured stat badges. You fill the slots with players who are due to appear in upcoming real-life matches.
The strategy is ordinary football sense. Pick players who are actually playing, ideally with good fixtures, and look past the biggest names. Scores come from how those athletes perform in real matches during the game week, so form and rotation drive every choice. The challenge is finding a combination of players that reaches your targets, and that gives you a reason to follow the real games.
After the games, a results screen lists matchups with team logos and player rows. A pop-up breaks down one player’s performance numbers and news.
In the NBA game, the lineup is a triangle of five cards on a purple court, and you can keep several saved lineups, each with a small green score badge.
The store page lists cash, cards, jerseys and VIP perks as prizes, with cards from 300+ licensed teams.
Modes
Sorare Set is a mobile-first mode where you open packs, collect cards and complete Streaks for rewards that include cash. Divination, the Set running in November 2026, has its own shop with rows of gold, silver and bronze packs for the Bundesliga, LaLiga and English League. A mission list offers tasks such as opening a daily pack and collecting players.
A Live Today section offers a starting 11 option plus silver and bronze options, all tied to that day’s real football matches.
One user said: “I am so disappointed for the contender Hot Streak, I guess Sorare 26 was too good for us players,”.
Progression and difficulty
Before you open a pack, you can scroll a list of the players it might contain, with small avatars and percentages. Cards are revealed one at a time on a tall purple panel decorated with clouds, with a card counter at the top and round buttons below. A new player gets a tag, and a rare pull can glow with a rainbow holographic border. Each opening ends on a New Signings summary panel.
The shop also sells special offers, including a Halloween pack and a goalkeeper starter pack. Your cards live in a My Cards gallery that you can filter by position. A daily task checklist sets the pace from day to day.
One review found Sorare suits fans who enjoy both lineup decisions and card collecting. One Google Play reviewer wrote: “You used to at least have a chance of winning cards.”
Controls and platforms
Play in Sorare is menu-driven. You scroll card grids, set filters and tap round buttons, and you never control a match yourself. You can play in a supported browser or in the Android app, which carries a PEGI 18 rating with Real Gambling/Paid Contests and In-Game Purchases labels.

Sorare’s art lives on its player cards, pack art and themed menus, and each card set gets its own look. The Divinations set gives packs, the shop and card reveals a purple and gold celestial theme.
Art style and world
The Divinations screens use dark navy and deep purple, starry backgrounds and gold crescent moons, in a tarot-like celestial style. Divinations cards have a purple and golden look, mystical details and new card frames, which sets them apart from the earlier Hyperglitch set.
The Divinations set has several card designs and variations to collect. Some of them look best at full size in the reveal. Pack banners show a purple starry sky behind a pastel holographic pack image.
The Divinations theme carries into the shop. Divination-themed tiled backgrounds frame special offers, a goalkeeper starter pack and match fixtures, and a dark red offer screen stacks several packs together. Opening a pack has a short animation: a glowing white card silhouette rises over a bronze pack and the shop behind it dims.
The Hot Streak mode is set in front of a stadium under a purple sky. Lineups appear as rows of player cards with their scores highlighted, so matches show up as numbers on cards and you never see animated play.
Interface and menus
Sorare runs as a dark web dashboard in navy-black and purple, with neon pink, gold and green accents that make prices, rarities and buttons easy to spot.
Each club has a profile page with its crest, a row of its best cards and stats panels for the current board and for card sets.
Performance and stability
The Sorare mobile app is free on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, and the Google Play listing names Android and Windows as platforms and shows an update on Mar 4, 2026.
Economy and earning reality
Sorare starts free, and its rewards are player cards. Its main spending sink is card packs, and a pack doesn’t guarantee the players you want. New accounts get free starter cards and can play Arcade and Sorare Set without paying, so you can enter the game’s competitions before you spend anything.
Wins pay out in cards. For a player, that means a prize is worth what a card of that player and tier fetches, and the payout isn’t fixed in any currency.
Packs are where money and gems go. League One packs come in gold, silver and bronze, each at its own price, and you pick which one to open based on how many gems you hold. What comes out is random: opening a pack doesn’t guarantee the players you were looking for. So a pack can return players you can’t use in your lineup, and the gems or money you spent on it don’t come back.
Sorare publishes no fixed earning rate, so any return depends on winning competitions and on what the cards you win are worth. Players say they worry about card prices and licensing. If you play only the free modes, you spend nothing and still learn how scoring works before buying scarcer cards.

Sorare is backed by large venture capital funds, with money raised in three rounds in 2020 and 2021. The largest was a $680 million Series B in September 2021.
The seed round on July 16, 2020 raised $4 million from e.Ventures, Fabric Ventures, Semantic Ventures, Partech Ventures and footballer Andre Schurrle.
SoftBank led it, and IVP, D1 Capital Partners, Headline, Eurazeo, LionTree and Gerard Pique also invested. As we reported, Sorare announced the round from Paris as a fantasy football platform. Atomico and Bessemer Ventures also took part, and Benchmark and Accel came back as existing investors.
That round was Europe’s biggest Series B ever, and it valued Sorare at $4.3 billion. The valuation is for the company. It doesn’t set a price for any player card.

Most of Sorare’s audience follows it on X, and the loudest player complaints are about which leagues the game holds licenses for. As of November 3, 2026, the @Sorare account on X had 215,900 followers. On the same day, the Sorare Telegram group had 1,993 members, 131 of them online. Launches, packs and giveaways reach players through X, and the Telegram group is a small side room by comparison.
What players complain about
The biggest argument among Sorare players is over licensing. Sorare added leagues such as Liga 1 and J League, and Digitokio reported that users were frustrated the Turkish league was dropped.
How Sorare talks to players
Sorare’s official X account mostly posts launches and sales. On October 30, 2026, it announced Divination, the next Set of Sorare Arcade, and gave away 50 Gems to 10 Managers who retweeted and commented. On November 2, 2026, it reported that 300+ Managers had reached the final step during launch weekend. A day later it ran a one-day European Champion Platinum Pack, with every card drawn from a club playing in that week’s competition.
The X posts show steady activity, and several hundred players finishing a new Arcade set in one weekend. None of them responds to the licensing complaints. Digitokio ended its piece by asking whether Sorare will adapt to feedback and repair its relationship with its community.
Roadmap and current status
Sorare is live, and it is shipping far more than it used to. It logged 24 dated updates and news items in the 12 months to November 3, 2026, against 2 in the 12 months before, so its trajectory is growing. Free play, Sorare Set and Sorare 27
Free play is the biggest change. As we reported, the free-to-play Arcade mode launched on January 20, 2026, and Sorare is targeting €15 million to €20 million in net revenue from it this year.
Sorare’s events fill the weeks between launches. egamers.io reported European Nations boards with a $25,000 prize pool from September 21 to October 7, 2026. On October 6, 2026, the same outlet covered Champions’ Inferno, a competition with rewards of up to $5,000.
Funding, Sorare NBA and Snatch
On September 21, 2026, egamers.io reported that Sorare had raised tens of millions of euros from its current investors and is aiming for profitability by the end of 2027. In an X post, CEO Nicolas Julia said the round would fund a new Arcade Set in early September and the return of the NBA in October. Sorare NBA came back on that schedule, according to SorareGOAT: Early Access cards reached the market on October 6, 2026, and the NBA season and Game Week 1 began on October 20, 2026. In Sorare’s schedule as of October 21, 2026, an NBA Arcade launch was planned for late October 2026.
Snatch, Sorare’s next product, comes at the end of the year. Julia calls it “a product that is even more mainstream than Arcade and has the potential to reach several tens of millions of people”.
Sorare’s legal trouble is still open. On 11 September 2026, Westminster Magistrates’ Court extended a funds freeze by four months at the NCA’s request, and The Independent reports that the NCA and Luxembourg authorities are investigating Sorare. Sorare said the frozen account does not belong to it.
Back in October 2025, Sorare announced it was moving from Ethereum to Solana, and egamers.io reported that users would not need to do anything.
Risks
Sorare’s biggest risk is legal. The Gambling Commission is prosecuting the company in Great Britain, and Global Gaming Insider reported that the trial has been rescheduled for June 2027. For a player in Great Britain, the legal status of the game there won’t be settled before the trial. Sorare keeps running its platform while the case goes on.
The Gambling Commission’s case has a long history. The Commission began examining in 2021 whether Sorare’s services were gambling, and Global Gaming Insider describes several years of scrutiny over Sorare’s regulatory status in Great Britain.
Licensing is the second risk, and it’s the one players complain about most. Your cards are tied to real leagues and clubs, so the league list decides which players you can collect and field. The licensing worry is about cost and about what makes a card scarce.

Paying for scarce cards is the risky part, and so is a gambling case in Great Britain that is still in court. Dealroom reported that Sorare launched Arcade in 2026 as a free-to-play mode, and that CEO Nicolas Julia described it as a strong hit.
Who it suits and what decides it
Fantasy managers who already track form and rotation get the most from Sorare, because real match performance decides every score. A Lifemix Brands review by Thomas White in August 2026 reached the same verdict: Sorare is best for fans who like both lineup decisions and card collecting.
Sorare has been busy over the past 12 months. SorareGOAT’s NBA 27 launch calendar put the start of the NBA season and its first game week on October 20, 2026. The Divination set of Sorare Arcade went live on October 30, 2026, and by November 2, 2026 the official account said 300+ Managers had reached its final step. That’s a sign the free mode pulls players in quickly.
The money side has stabilised for now. As we reported, Julia said the new capital will fund new game modes and card products while Sorare works to return to profitability by the end of 2027.
Who should skip it
If you’re here for income, skip it. The Google Play listing carries a PEGI 18 rating with a Real Gambling/Paid Contests label, and one reviewer there wrote that they spent €2,000 on cards in their first year and would be lucky if those cards were worth more than €500. Packs also don’t guarantee the players you want.
Players in Great Britain should know the Gambling Commission prosecution is still unresolved. Fans of leagues Sorare doesn’t license can skip it as well: Digitokio reported in July 2026 that users were frustrated when the Turkish league was left out.
Of the four, only Sorare is built on licensed cards of real athletes scored on real matches, so pick it if you watch the leagues and one of the others if you don’t.
The score would go up if Arcade’s growth brings Sorare to profitability and the court case ends cleanly. It would go down if more leagues drop out or the trial goes against the company. Snatch, a more mainstream product, is planned for the end of 2026.
