Enterprise almost never gets its turn. The Next Generation gets the love, the movies, the legacy sequel series where Patrick Stewart plays Picard again decades later. The franchise has gotten good at bringing classic actors back, even when the results don’t land the way anyone hoped.
Enterprise, meanwhile, mostly sits out. Minor events, the occasional nod, then back to the shelf.
That changes with the Terran NX Starship, pulled straight out of Star Trek: Enterprise and dropped into Star Trek Online.
It’s part of Rediscovered, a multi-series, multi-decade celebration of the franchise running inside the game. It arrives September 22 on PC, with consoles later in the year.
Every era gets a ship
The new roadmap spreads the love around. Academy, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Discovery, The Next Generation and Prodigy all get ships alongside the NX. The first of these drops is rolling out now and runs through February, closing out with Academy.
Fleet Mod Ships are in the update too, which means endgame-ready hulls with customization on top. The Intrepid Class and a Defiant Class have been teased with new modifications, including nacelle struts and a forward hull.
Spock shows up twice, which is a flex. Ethan Peck returns from Strange New Worlds to voice him, and Piotr Michael, who played the character in Star Trek: Undiscovered, comes back as a version of Leonard Nimoy’s Spock.
The Enterprise is the grand prize, and you have to work for it
There’s a full Strange New Worlds celebration attached, and yes, that includes the Enterprise. Getting your hands on it is the convoluted part. It lives inside the Starship Icons Prize Pack.
“While we’re not giving full details on this pack yet, it will give you excellent odds to win one of sixty starships. As you open packs, you can keep the prizes you won, or trade them in for higher-tier prizes. The Grand Prize is the new Enterprise.”
Pick your era and there’s something in Rediscovered aimed at you. And with the pile of quality-of-life work the game has absorbed by now, this is a reasonable moment to finally install it.
Twenty-odd years after the NX-01 got written off, it’s a prize ship in a roadmap that treats it like it belongs.
