Two guys, one microphone each, and a week of PlayStation news messy enough to carry an entire episode. That’s the setup for the new special episode of FRAMERATE, where Sakis and Themis sit down to work through the past few days of what they themselves call the “drama” between PlayStation and Hideo Kojima.
It’s the kind of story that gets flattened into headlines within hours. The show takes the slower route.
And because no gaming discussion in the past week could plausibly skip it, the Nintendo Direct lands squarely in the middle of the conversation too.
Nintendo brought the heavier slate this time
The Direct gave Sakis and Themis more to chew on than most. They go through the games Nintendo is lining up for Switch 2, and the list is front-loaded with names that carry real weight.
The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the headliner. That’s a 1998 game being rebuilt for hardware nobody had a name for two years ago, and it’s the one that pulls the most oxygen out of the room.
The new 2D Metroid gets its turn as well. So does the upcoming Kirby game.
Where the Kojima thread actually goes
The PlayStation side of the episode isn’t a recap. Sakis and Themis talk through what’s been happening between Sony and Kojima over recent days, which is the part that’s been hardest to read clearly from the outside.
That conversation runs alongside the Nintendo material rather than separately from it. The two threads keep bumping into each other, which is arguably the point of doing this as a discussion instead of a news post.
The full episode covers all of it, plus more than what’s outlined here.
Worth your time if you’ve only read the headlines
You can get the bullet points of the Kojima situation and the Direct lineup in five minutes anywhere. What you can’t get in five minutes is two people arguing about what any of it means for Switch 2’s first serious year.
If you’ve been half-following the Sony and Kojima story and want the version with context attached, this is where to start.
