X Money functions as a comprehensive spending and saving account. It offers a yield of 6 percent APY on balances, which is notable given that most banks are currently offering rates closer to 4.5 percent. The accompanying X Card provides 3 percent cashback on eligible purchases and supports direct deposit that can arrive up to two days before payday.

However, analysts express caution regarding the sustainability of the high APY and cashback offerings, suggesting they may normalize over time to align with other fintech competitors.

X Money operates through a partnership with Cross River Bank, a New Jersey-based institution that provides FDIC insurance up to $250,000 per depositor.
