In Brief:

  • Axie Infinity (official site) said Ronin Waypoint sunsets in five days. A grace period ends Oct. 31, 2026, at 3 p.m. UTC (11 a.m. ET).
  • The grace period only covers users who already reported migration problems on X, Discord or through a support ticket. The main deadline passed Oct. 16.
  • Axie Infinity AXS $0.9597 ▼ -6% said assets left in a Waypoint wallet “may become inaccessible.” bAXS and badges have their own one-time migration.

Axie Infinity posted a countdown on X saying there were “5 more days until Ronin Waypoint sunsets.” The post links to the game’s Waypoint migration page.

The wallet’s last day is Oct. 31, 2026. A grace period runs until 3 p.m. UTC that day (11 a.m. ET).

Read the post on X

“After that, Ronin Waypoint will be fully sunset, and the migration will be complete!” Ronin said in a post on X.

Who the grace period covers

The extra time doesn’t reopen migration for everyone. It only applies to users who already flagged a problem through X, Discord or a ticket.

“The Grace Period gives our users time to resolve any outstanding issues raised via X, Discord or Ticket,” Ronin said.

The main deadline was Oct. 16. An earlier Sept. 12 deadline and the Oct. 16 date were both pushed back after user requests.

Users who need help can file at support.roninchain.com. Ronin asks for the wallet address and a screenshot, or a transaction hash or failure message. The migration portal is at wallet.roninchain.com/app/migrating.

What happens to leftover assets

Moving assets isn’t automatic. They stay in the Waypoint wallet until the holder moves them.

“Assets left in a Waypoint wallet may become inaccessible,” Axie Infinity said in its migration guide.

That leaves players who stopped logging in months ago most exposed. Anyone who used Waypoint, a keyless or MPC wallet, or social login on Ronin is affected. Seed phrase wallets aren’t.

Players can check their status on the Waypoint dashboard at waypoint.roninchain.com. Affected wallets show a Social Login Wallet or Keyless label.

Two exits

Users have two options. They can migrate to Ronin Stash, which keeps email and social login. Or they can send assets to a standard Ronin Wallet secured by a seed phrase.

The Stash route runs through the official migration page. Users sign in with their Waypoint account, choose Ronin Stash as the destination, select the assets to move and complete the process.

The seed phrase route goes through the Ronin transfer page. Users sign in with Waypoint, pick an asset, enter the destination address, send and confirm the assets arrived.

bAXS and badges need a separate step

Axie Infinity players have one more task. bAXS and badges don’t move with the rest of the wallet and must be migrated through app.axie.

Players sign in with their Waypoint account, link a seed phrase wallet to their Axie account, review their badges and bAXS, approve bAXS if they hold any and sign the transaction.

“You can only complete this migration once,” Axie Infinity said.

Background

Axie Infinity announced the Waypoint shutdown on Oct. 2. Ronin Stash, the keyless replacement, was announced in June.

The wallet sunset is separate from Ronin’s network move to an Ethereum Layer 2, which finished in May 2026 with about 10 hours of mainnet downtime. That change cut RON inflation from over 20% to under 1%. It also raised the marketplace fee sent to the Treasury from 0.5% to 1.25%.

After 3 p.m. UTC on Oct. 31, the grace period ends. Ronin said that’s when the migration will be complete.
