In Brief:

  • Bladerite has launched the BRMC Selection Arena Conquest for its rebranded title, Bladerite: Rivals, running from May 7 to May 28.
  • The tournament is a skill-based competition with no pay-to-win mechanics, rewarding the top player with official recognition as BladeRite Master of Ceremonies (BRMC).
  • Competitors can earn various prizes, including a Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro Max smartphone and exclusive in-game skins.

Bladerite launches skill-focused tournament

Bladerite’s BRMC Selection Arena Conquest event has kicked off, running daily from 17:00 to 19:00 until May 28. This tournament is positioned as purely skill-based, aligning with the studio’s commitment to competitive integrity, free from pay-to-win and luck factors.

This initiative coincides with the ongoing 6-7 Beta phase for Bladerite: Rivals, which began on April 23. The winner will be the first officially recognized BRMC, holding a significant place in the competitive community’s hierarchy.

Tournament structure

The tournament spans 22 days, each featuring arena-style matches across multiple regions: Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Egypt, and Iraq. While players vie for rankings, the event is designed to reward skill and investment of time.

All participants can also compete for Google Play Gift Cards and other beta rewards. The studio emphasizes that success is derived solely from player skill, stressing that “every decision matters” in the competitive environment.

Background on Bladerite: Rivals

Bladerite: Rivals, previously known as Project A: Melee Battle Royale, develops melee combat with a fantasy twist. Matches are limited to 20 players and last about seven minutes, emphasizing a rapid gameplay cycle. Combat mechanics revolve around the Lethal Triangle system, which requires precise maneuvering and timing.

The game includes over 20 unique heroes with diverse classes, adding depth to strategy and gameplay. The introduction of a new character, Candice, further enriches the current beta experience, enhancing team dynamics in battle.

Economic structure

The game features a player-driven economy built around collectible weapon enhancements called Patterns. These can be upgraded and traded, creating a marketplace that complements the core gameplay.

In addition to Hero NFTs from the original franchise, the Pattern system in Bladerite: Rivals incorporates customizations without impacting competitive integrity, keeping the focus on skill rather than financial investment.

Testing the competitive thesis

The BRMC Selection Arena Conquest plays a critical role in the broader beta structure, allowing developers to assess player engagement and competition dynamics. The explicit framing against pay-to-win mechanics seeks to balance economic elements with fair gameplay. If successful, this could serve as a model for future competitive settings in Web3 gaming.

Player participation

Players interested in competing must access Bladerite: Rivals via Google Play, registering during the defined competition hours. Currently, the game is limited to the regions involved in the beta, with plans for an iOS version in the pipeline.

The race for the first BRMC

As the tournament progresses, the first BRMC will be crowned on May 28, alongside numerous prizes. This designation is critical for establishing future competitive events and generating community interest as the game’s development continues.

With three weeks still ahead and the potential for intense competition, players are now focused on how this skill-centric format will unfold. The Bladerite community stands ready to see who rises to the top.
