After operating for seven years, DappRadar, a prominent site for tracking blockchain applications, has announced its closure due to financial challenges. The platform specialized in monitoring activity across numerous blockchains and thousands of apps, providing essential data to its users.

Financial Challenges Overcome the Platform

Founded in 2018 during the surge of Ethereum-based applications, the Lithuania-based company has faced increasing financial difficulties. Despite significant support, including an $8 million funding amassed with a major part of $5 million raised during a 2021 Series A round, the operational costs of running the sophisticated tracking services have become untenable in the current economic environment. Skirmantas Januškas and DragosDunica, co-founders of DappRadar, expressed their regret, stating that the decision to cease operations was tough but necessary after evaluating all possible options to sustain the platform.

With the shutdown, DappRadar will discontinue all its associated services, such as the portfolio tracker and airdrop tracker. This will also end the tracking of raw data involving numerous blockchain activities, an essential resource for the community. Concerning the RADAR token and the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that were integral to accessing premium accounts and governance, the founders have declared that the future of these assets remains uncertain.
