GhostM Global

GhostM Global is a Web3 MMORPG being built for the NUMINE platform, with token and asset infrastructure spread across Avalanche and Ethereum. The pitch is a dark fantasy persistent world — mythic questing, real-time combat, layered character progression — with ownership of gear and currency pushed onto the chain rather than held on a publisher's server.

What works in its favour is the shape of the ambition. An MMORPG is the genre where blockchain ownership arguably makes the most sense: long-lived characters, deep item economies and player-to-player trade already exist in traditional MMOs, so tokenised assets are less of a bolt-on here than in a casual title. The dual-chain choice also suggests the team wants Avalanche's cheaper throughput for in-game activity while keeping higher-value assets in Ethereum's more liquid market.

What does not work, at least yet, is the evidence. The publicly available material leans on genre vocabulary — dynamic combat, deep progression — without much that distinguishes it from any other fantasy MMO promise, and there is little in the way of sustained gameplay footage, published class or economy design, or a firm launch date to test the claims against. Its earn model is asserted rather than explained.

Worth bookmarking if you follow MMO-scale Web3 projects and are comfortable waiting for a playable build. Anyone wanting something to play this week should look elsewhere.
