  • Gigaverse (official site) highlighted GigaPrix, a tournament tool for its Gigling racing game, built by community developer @web3_shadowking.
  • The tool removes the manual work of stringing individual staked races into a tournament, something players had asked for since racing launched.
  • Gigling racing has run on one-off races until now, each with its own organizer-set entry fee, distance and item rules.

Gigaverse pointed players to GigaPrix, a tournament tool for Gigling racing built by @web3_shadowking, in a post listing the project under the heading “Community & Social.”

The pitch is automation. Organizers who wanted to run a series of races had to set each one up and track results themselves.

Since Gigling racing was launched, “a widely requested feature was tournaments of races, instead of one-offs,” Gigaverse said in the post. GigaPrix “changed that completely by eliminating the need to manage tournaments of individual races manually,” the post said.

How racing works now

Gigling racing is a staked horse racing game that debuted on Abstract and runs at giglingracing.com. No Gigaverse account is required to play it.

Players organize their own races. The organizer sets the entry fee in ETH, the race distance and whether items are in play, including performance-boosting butterflies and disruptive dung. Each race fits eight Giglings, and item usage can be toggled on or off.

Winners take 90% of the collected entry fees.

Each of those races settles on its own. That is the gap GigaPrix addresses.

What the runners bring

Giglings carry four race-phase stats plus non-numerical attributes: gender, rarity, faction and preferred track conditions. Some traits stay hidden and surface only later, under conditions such as specific weather.

Rare Giglings have higher stat floors and more traits. That doesn’t guarantee a win.

They also age out. Giglings have a limited racing career, and breeding is used for population control, which pushes owners toward managing a stable across generations rather than a single runner. Giglings can be traded, hatched, raced and dueled.

Outside builders

Gigaverse has been recruiting third-party developers. It ran GIGATHON #1, its first hackathon, across six categories with $200 in rewards per category.

Coverage put the run from June 15 to 26, though Gigaverse’s own post said it ran from the 15th to the 25th. The brief asked for apps, mods and tools that expand the ecosystem, with Gigling racing and the community singled out, and Gigaverse encouraged participants to use AI while building. Submissions included dashboards, analytics and onboarding utilities.

The hackathon landed in a busy stretch for the category. MapleStory Universe (official site) ran its Vibe Camp, and EVE Frontier held its first hackathon in March, focused on mods and third-party tools. CCP awarded $80,000 there, including a $25,000 grand prize for CradleOS, a civilization-building mod.

Events and ladders

Structured competition has shown up in other forms already. There’s an ELO rank for Gigaverse Giglings, with players competing for top-eight spots and trait rewards.

Gigaverse also ran a crossover with Cambria from June 23 to 27. It featured 200 free-entry races, each granting 25 Cambria dungeon keys, scheduled twice daily at 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. UTC.

Then there are the GigaGod races, which invert the format. Four players compete to finish last. The entire ETH prize pool goes to last place, along with a 1,000 $GOD bonus airdropped after the event and an exclusive limited edition god skin NFT in Gigaverse.

Entrants bring their slowest Gigling and their best dung.
