What is RavenQuest?

RavenQuest is a free-to-play, top-down sandbox MMORPG from Tavernlight Games, the studio behind the MMO Ravendawn, and it shares that game's world and pixel-art style. The official site promises it is and will remain fully free to play. Players change and shape a large, dynamically changing world through gathering, crafting, land ownership, trade and guild warfare, and the economy is player-driven: every resource gathered and every item crafted and sold comes from players.

How to play RavenQuest

Character building runs through archetypes and collectable RavenCards, which customise your abilities to fit how you play. Gathering and crafting are skill-based, and quests, rare materials and drops unlock hundreds of outfit, ship, wagon and mount cosmetics, while hundreds of companions can be collected. You can claim land anywhere in the world, from jungles and mountain peaks to a secluded island, then customise the house with pets, furniture and rooms and use the land to produce resources. Ships and wagons are built with a detailed vehicle system, and Tradepacks carried across the world can be ambushed and stolen, which pushes traders into risk. Combat covers open-world guild-versus-guild battles, Guild Wars and a Solo and Duo PvP Arena. Fortune's Frontier, a seasonal mode that launched on 16 October, starts every player equal across three islands with different risk levels: explore, loot, stash and extract safely to earn silver and climb the season rankings.

Land, QUEST and the blockchain

RavenQuest's Web3 layer runs on Immutable zkEVM. Land plots are NFTs, and the QUEST token launched there in April 2025 with a supply of 1 billion, the largest share set aside for ecosystem rewards. Players earn QUEST for in-game contributions and achievements and spend it on land upkeep, ability upgrades and marketplace trades. Land owners can earn a share of QUEST, and land supply is finite, so newcomers reach it through resale or rental. The game uses BattlEye and Anybrain anti-cheat with manual audits.
