Parallel puts a Skeleton Key on top of Monthly Melee 1 prize list

Parallel finalized the prize structure for Monthly Melee 1 and put a Skeleton Key at the top of it.

First place takes the key. Second place gets a Prime Variant, and third gets a Parallel swag bundle. Parallel announced the breakdown on X, describing the prizes as finalized for MM1.

Neither of the lower two prizes is fixed. The runner-up selects a PV card from a collection, and the third-place finisher customizes the swag bundle.

What the key does

The Skeleton Key is one of three keys in Parallel that don’t hand out a flat PRIME or XP boost, along with the Champion’s Key and the Prime Key.

It shapeshifts. Each day it turns into a different random key the holder doesn’t already have in their Keyframe, according to Echelon‘s documentation.

Champion’s is the other key tied to competition. It gives a small chance at a free high-stakes tournament ticket for each ranked win.

The second-place pick

PV is one of Parallel's variant classes, alongside Echo, First Edition, Special Edition, Perfect Loop, Native Language and Artigraph. Not every card exists in every class. Only Base Set cards can be Artigraphed.

Rarer classes carry a variant boost to PRIME earnings, and PV sits in the chase tier. The Haven expansion gave its Prime Variants an anime-inspired visual style, breaking from the look of earlier PV releases.

Parallel didn’t say which cards make up the collection the runner-up will choose from, or what goes into the swag bundle.

What the announcement leaves out

There’s no date, format, field size or entry requirement in the prize post. Parallel labeled it “(1/2),” indicating a second part.

The company pointed players to the event page at versus.echelon.io/tournament/MM1.

Background

Parallel runs its top-tier competition under the Parallel Prime League banner, a season-based structure that replaced the earlier Parallel League branding.

Inside the client, High Stakes Tournaments pay PRIME to the top 16, with the largest reward and an exclusive in-game title going to the winner. Monthly Melee 1, as announced, pays in assets and merchandise instead.

Parallel’s post put the choice mechanics this way: “Runner-up chooses their PV card from a collection and 3rd place can customize their // Swag Bundle.”
