The studio is currently gearing up for a Steam Early Access launch of Reaper Actual scheduled for May 2026. The game will be released in a pure web2 version on Steam, while a web3 variant will be accessible via the Distinct Possibility website, featuring NFT marketplace capabilities.
The recent announcement does not specify details about the blockchain integration, although Decasonic’s background suggests that web3 will remain a part of the plan. CEO John Smedley emphasized the significance of the new funding, stating, “This additional funding, and Bing joining our board is a major milestone for Distinct Possibility Studios and a strong vote of confidence in our vision.”
Smedley continued, “This gives us additional funding, expertise, and resources to continue polishing the player experience and ensure Reaper Actual is ready for a successful Steam Early Access launch in the coming weeks. We’re building something special, and this support allows us to deliver the kind of game our community deserves.”
Decasonic’s Hsu commented on the studio’s capabilities, saying, “Distinct Possibility Studios brings deep expertise in large-scale online worlds, and Reaper Actual is pushing the category forward with a persistent open world built for emergent gameplay, with social at its heart.” He added that as player expectations evolve, Distinct Possibility is well-positioned to advance the genre.
Reaper Actual can now be wishlisted on Steam.
