  • The six grants total $26,250, paid in MANA. Awards ranged from $3,000 for Candy Sheep Meadow to $7,750 for Flagtag.

The grants site lists $26,250 in total awards. Every project was built for the content track, which in Season 1 meant mobile-optimized experiences. Each one is listed as completed and can be launched in Decentraland from the site.

The six grantees

Flagtag, from builder ile, got the largest award at $7,750. It’s a multiplayer keep-away game on SDK7: players fight over a flag in five-minute rounds using combat items, teleport portals PORTALS $0.00303 ▼ -9.9% and a live leaderboard. The site said rounds run 24/7 on mobile and desktop.

Big Yellow Fishes received $4,000 for The Pixel Arcade, a mobile-first social arcade in one shared space. Players drop in and choose from casual party games, tabletop classics and score-chasers with social leaderboards. The site said it was “built around short sessions and repeat visits.”

Goal Legends Arena, by carlosmu and facemoon, also got $4,000. It’s a penalty-shootout minigame in which two players trade shots and saves while spectators react around the stadium. Matches last about five minutes and use cinematic cameras, replays and broadcast-style presentation. The game runs PvP duels and PvE matches against AI opponents, according to its GitHub repository.

Meta Live Studio’s Doge Hunt was the third $4,000 grant. Players hide in a crowd of identical Doges, then hunt and “bonk” rivals using tactical skill pickups. The game has a competitive leaderboard, daily missions and wearable rewards.

AdventureLand got $3,500 to expand Space Runner, a sci-fi obstacle-course runner where players dodge boulders and sweeping lasers, fly through boost rings and collect gems for the leaderboards. The grant paid for a redesigned level-select UI, five new higher-difficulty maps and new resource types.

Hancos received $3,000 for Candy Sheep Meadow, a 32m by 32m fenced meadow of candy-colored sheep. The sheep have their own personalities, approach players and respond to petting with sounds and sparkle effects. The repository describes it as “a cozy sheep farm experience built in Decentraland MANA $0.08825 ▼ -6.2%” and said it uses SDK 7, TypeScript and React ECS under an Apache 2.0 license.

How the money moved

Regenesis Labs pays grants in MANA through Request Finance, released as milestones are hit. The June status update listed a first wave of payments totaling 114,396 MANA: 30,800 to Goal Legends, 28,045 to Adventure Land, 24,240 to Doge Hunt, 20,431 to Big Yellow Fish and 10,880 to Candy Shop.

The May update reported a separate 34,208 MANA payment to Flag Tag for Milestone 1, which covered core stability and bug fixes, a functional UI and VFX polish on desktop and mobile.

Those payments came as the token fell. Regenesis Labs said MANA traded at $0.06124 on June 30, below its operational break-even price of $0.26.

Selection and pace

Season 1 applications opened April 1 and closed April 24. Of 29 valid proposals asking for $342,300 combined, seven met the funding bar, according to the April update. Those seven were allocated about $32,000 from a $55,000 Season 1 pool. One project withdrew before it was funded.

Specialized AI agents scored each proposal on areas such as technical feasibility, creativity and marketing potential. The agents posted questions in each submission’s forum thread, and the Regenesis Labs team made the final call.

Kickoffs began May 1, and the delivery deadline was July 31. Goal Legends was scoped to be playable during the World Cup window and finished ahead of schedule, the July update said. Some projects had milestones scheduled into August.

Who runs it

Regenesis Labs is the Decentraland DAO’s executive arm. The DAO Council approved its plan and budget in May 2025, and its priorities include production-ready mobile and VR clients. The grants program fits that push. Season 1 asked for mobile content and AI-assisted creation tools, with awards of up to $15,000 in MANA and delivery windows of up to 90 days.

The group also ran the Friendzone Buildathon, a mobile social-experiences contest scheduled for Aug. 14 to Sept. 4 with an $8,000 prize pool.

Season 2 is planned for November 2026. Regenesis Labs said its themes will be announced with the call for proposals. A grant may be terminated if the team misses two milestones in a row.

“We want to fund projects that ship, not projects that stall,” the program’s FAQ said.
