In Brief:

  • Ronin launched a PoD Reward Estimator on Oct. 26 at pod.roninchain.com/estimate. Teams on other chains can enter their last 30 days of activity and get an estimated RON reward from Proof of Distribution.
  • The tool scores each game against the final Season 5 field of 84 builders and a pool of 410,958 RON. Ronin said the estimates carry an approximate ±30% range.
  • Proof of Distribution now takes all of Ronin’s 5M RON in yearly emissions, so the estimator gives prospective builders a dollar figure to weigh before they migrate.

Ronin released a calculator on Monday that tells game studios on other chains how much RON they might earn through Proof of Distribution if they moved to the network.

The team posted the PoD Reward Estimator on X on Oct. 26, pitching it at studios that can say “My game has X DAU, and we’re bringing in traditional players every day.”

“If that’s you, Proof of Distribution rewards builders every month for the onchain activity those players create,” Ronin said in the post.

How the estimator works

Studios enter figures from the chain they’re on now. Ronin said in a follow-up post that the inputs cover users (active and new), transactions and volume across contract activity, NFT trades and DEX trading.

“You get an estimated RON reward, your projected rank and share of the pool, and a score across the six PoD categories,” Ronin said.

The tool converts transactions into Ronin gas. If no transaction count is entered, it falls back to gas spent in USD. It has a box for counting every active user as new to Ronin in the first month after a move.

A “RON pressure” input adjusts the result. The estimator defines 1.0 as neutral. Users who net-buy RON can push the figure up to about 2.37, and net sellers can drag it down to about 0.37. If the price field is left empty, the tool uses the season average.

Ronin said the numbers are a ballpark. “Estimates are based on Season 5 data, with an approximate ±30% range,” the team said. “Actual future rewards may vary.”

What a sample game earns

The screenshot in Ronin’s launch post runs a hypothetical game with 5,000 active users, 1,200 new users and 90,000 transactions over 30 days. It also shows $300,000 in contract volume, $150,000 in NFT trade volume and $2 million in token DEX volume.

That game comes out at roughly 99,707 RON, or about $6,055 at $0.0607 per RON. That would be 24.26% of the pool and first place out of 85 builders, with a ±30% band of 69,795 to 129,619 RON.

Most of the sample’s score comes from trading. NFT volume adds 261.6 points and DEX volume adds 104.7. Contract volume contributes 29.9, active users 8.4, gas 3.4 and new users 2.6.

The tool puts the sample next to Season 5’s actual top earners. Axie Infinity (official site)’s estimate is 85,041 RON against an actual payout of 85,726 RON. Craft World (official site)’s estimate is 83,882 RON and its actual payout was 78,962 RON.

Score weights

Ronin also posted the current Builder Score weights. NFT volume and DEX volume each count for 30%, and both are labeled as volume that paid fees to the Ronin Treasury. Total honor across active users is weighted at 13%, total honor across new users at 11%, and gas spend and contract volume at 8% each.

The chart notes that the weights are “based on on-chain contract activity” and are “reviewed and may be adjusted monthly.”

Background

Season 5 of Proof of Distribution ended at 14:00 GMT+7 on Oct. 11, 2026. In an Oct. 8 blog post, Ronin said more than 2 million RON will have been distributed to builders by the end of the season.

When the leaderboard launched, Ronin said 416K RON goes out to builders every month based on their Builder Score. The original score covered gas spend, active and new users holding more than 10 RON, NFT and DEX volume, and smart contract volume.

Ronin said the first weighting came from “an AI-powered analysis of the metrics that most align with $RON’s success,” and that the mechanism “will be an evolving process and will be adjusted based on the behaviors we observe.”

On Sept. 10, Ronin added a RON Conviction multiplier to Builder Score. Projects whose communities show stronger conviction in RON get their scores amplified, and weaker conviction lowers the multiplier.

The program grew out of Ronin’s move from a sovereign L1 to an Ethereum Layer 2 on May 12. Ronin said annual emissions have since dropped from 45M RON to 5M RON, an 89% reduction. Staking rewards are gone and all emissions now flow to builders.

“There’s currently no way to stake your RON and earn rewards,” Ronin said on its blog. “All rewards will flow directly to builders.”
