The post told players to “Save that Glint!” It didn’t say how many skins are in the new batch, what they’ll cost or when the event ends.
How last year’s event ran
The 2025 edition started Oct. 14 and lasted until the Nov. 4 update. It added two holiday skin sets, Spooky and Haunted, along with a limited holiday ruleset, battle backgrounds and chest images across the site.
Spooky skins were sold mainly in the Reward shop for Glint. Commons cost 500 Glint, rares 2,500, epics 8,000 and legendaries 20,000. The skins were cosmetic and gave no gameplay advantage.
Chests carried the scarcer items. “A handful of limited Spooky summoner skins and older cards, along with a very limited Haunted set will be added to Ultimate chests at the start on the new season on the 15th,” the 2025 release notes said. “There will be a 3% chance of finding a skin, which is removed from the potion chance.”
Last year’s holiday ruleset was Blood Moon. “This causes all units to begin the match with the Blood Lust ability,” the notes said.
The first Hallow’s Fall started Oct. 15, 2024, and was a much smaller event. Splinterlands temporarily replaced some of its art with holiday versions. It said players might be able to get permanent copies of those skins once the Glamour system was added.
The Oct. 13 post didn’t say whether any of last year’s mechanics are coming back.
A year of holiday skins
Hallow’s Fall is the latest of several skin-based holiday events Splinterlands ran in 2026.
The Amorendel event ran during the first season of February under the ruleset “Hey Jealousy.” According to the Jan. 27 release notes, “10 different Sweetheart skins will be available in the Reward shop for either Glint or DEC for the duration of the event.”
Eggstravaganza followed in April. The March 30 notes said, “A new holiday is hopping into Splinterlands for the first season of April.” The Summer Fun update on June 2 promised that “A new set of gift boxes are coming, along with more than 50 new skins!”
The June 30 release notes introduced Alteration, which “Grants a monthly skin airdrop, as well as a chance to get rare premium skins.” It started Aug. 18.
Glint and chests
Glint came out of the April 2024 rewards overhaul, which removed daily and seasonal chests. Players earn it through play. It can’t be bought directly or traded between players or on Hive Engine.
Splinterlands has adjusted the Glint economy several times this year. A Feb. 17 change gave players in Silver league and above the option to automatically burn their SPS rewards for more Glint. “This effectively doubles your reward shares,” the release notes said.
New players also get 30 Glint for each of their first 10 Frontier battles, under a May 26 update.
Chest odds have shifted too. “Jackpot cards for reward chests have run out and temporarily been removed from the chest odds,” the Sept. 15 release notes said.
