YGG’s VibeBlitz game jam kicks off
YGG’s vibecode.game has unveiled the VibeBlitz game jam, collaborating with Minds by Animoca Brands to promote community-driven game development. The program spans four weeks, allowing participants to create games with an emphasis on AI tools.
The building phase is from July 13 to 27. Following this, games will be openly played and voted on by the community for one week. Fifteen finalists will move to the final judging round, with winners announced on August 10.
Key guidelines for participants
All games must fit within a 32×32 plot of land. This design limitation encourages developers to focus on delivering a concise and engaging gaming experience. Entries are required to be free-to-play, browser-accessible, and intuitive enough for players to engage without prior instructions.
Minds by Animoca Brands mandates the use of its Game Designer Mind for at least half of the game development. The AI serves as a co-creator, assisting in concept generation, prototype mechanics, asset creation, and gameplay testing. Entrants must detail the AI’s contributions, which will be a factor in the judging process.
Prize structure and community involvement
A total of $5,000 in prizes will be distributed among the top five teams, with the winner receiving $1,000 in both YGG tokens and Minds Cognition Credits. Additional prizes range from $600 to $200. Selected teams might also join the Minds Investment Programme for further support.
Community engagement is integral. All finished games will be showcased from July 27 to August 2, and the entries with the most likes will move on to the judging phase. Public votes will influence the overall playability and enjoyment scores.
Judging criteria and collaboration incentives
Judges Gabby Dizon from YGG and Mohamed AbdelKhalek from Minds will evaluate entries based on plot cohesion, playability, originality, and technical execution. Participants can earn bonus points for creating connections with other games, emphasizing the communal aspect of the project.
VibeBlitz reflects YGG’s vision for vibecode.game as more than just a gaming catalog. Through structured events, AI integration, and community engagement, YGG aims to establish a continuous cycle of game production and distribution.
“VibeBlitz isn’t just about individual projects; it’s about building a vibrant community of creators,” said Dizon.
