Shroom Zoom draws a Decentraland promo as its reward wearables sit in review

Decentraland pushed Shroom Zoom to its followers this week, pointing players at a platformer built around jumping from one mushroom to the next.

“Your fairy fantasy is one hop away. Jump mushroom to mushroom in @ShroomZoomDCL,” Decentraland said in the post, which opened with a stylized “incoming whimsy” banner.

The reward tiers are already spelled out

The wearables are the concrete part. A collection titled “Shroom Zoom!” from creator Mewnessa went to Decentraland’s community wearables forum for review, listing three items, each tied to a different milestone inside the game.

Pip’s Hat! is an exotic-rarity item in the hat category, earned by collecting 500 Sprites. Sprites are the game’s pickup.

Zip the Sprite! is scarcer. It’s a mythic item in the top_head slot, reserved for the first 10 people to collect 1,000 Sprites.

The third item skips the grind entirely. Shroom Zoom Shrooms! is an exotic piece in the stunt category, and the listing says it’s gifted to winners of the Shroom Zoom POWER HOUR.

The collection was still sitting on the forum as ready for review, the step before curators sign off, so none of the three has cleared yet.

Second in Decentraland’s own poll

Decentraland ran a poll on X asking followers to name their favorite new game in the world. Shroom Zoom pulled 32.3% of 93 votes.

Space Runner won it with 40.9%. Sky Chaser took 15.1% and Cosy Farm 11.8%.

The promo comes while Decentraland is actively funding game builders. Applications for its Creator Success program opened to the public in September, with money released in stages tied to project milestones. The first payment is $1,000.

DCL Regenesis Labs runs a separate track. The execution arm of the Decentraland DAO opened Season 1 of its Regenesis Grants Program, offering up to $15,000 in MANA on milestone-based payments, with a 90-day delivery window, an open-source requirement and a focus on mobile-optimized content.

Decentraland hasn’t said whether Shroom Zoom came through either program.

Regenesis Labs has been building its own games alongside the grants. Its May status update said the team kept polishing games ahead of launch while shipping a second monthly mobile release, v1.5, and starting development work on Grants Season 1.

The delivery target for all of it is the DCL 2.0 desktop client, which shipped in late 2024, with the Creator Hub handling scene construction. Communities, still in beta, adds group spaces with chat, events and member roles.

Shroom Zoom’s own account answered Decentraland’s post with four words: “Faith, trust, and pixie dust!”
