Maxion ships Sept. 10 gameplay update to Ragnarok Online Landverse America

Maxion shipped a gameplay update to Ragnarok Online Landverse America on Sept. 10, publishing the full patch notes to news.rola.maxion.gg.

The studio announced it through ROLA’s X account with a link and no summary. That’s the same approach it took on Aug. 13 and Aug. 27, when it also routed players to the news portal instead of listing changes in the post itself.

A two-week cadence

Three updates have landed in four weeks. Before that stretch, the Americas team was far slower: the Aug. 13 patch was only its second public gameplay update of the year through its own channels, following one on May 28.

Maxion keeps a similar rhythm on its other Landverse services. The Thai service took patch notes on Sept. 2 and again on Sept. 9. Maxion Tech holds the publishing rights across the Landverse titles, which also include Ragnarok Landverse: Genesis.

What’s been feeding the franchise

Recent Landverse content has drawn on classic Ragnarok Online episodes. Port Malaya opened as a tropical village reached by sailing southwest from Alberta, introduced through a storyline about a missing fishing vessel, and arrived with Bangungot’s Hospital plus the Buwaya and Bakonawa exterminations. Those landed alongside the “Final Bond of Midgard” and “Eclipse of Landverse: Ayotaya” events.

An EP 14.2 Eclage patch followed with the Laphine capital, new weapons and Malangdo enchants.

Not every change has been content. One quality-of-life patch placed an NPC Resetter in Izlude at coordinates 128, 149, capping accounts at 10 resets and making the first five free.

Earlier in the year, a January update titled “Awakening of the New World” delivered scrolls including Holy Defender, Sacred Fist, Atomic, Crimson Stalker, Iron Heart, Darkness Fang, Luxury Hunting and Fallen Angels. February’s “Brilliant Celebration” centered on Worthless Wonders content and a Refine Challenge.

Background

ROLA went live Dec. 18, 2025 in Latin America and North America under an official license from Gravity Co., Ltd. (NasdaqGM: GRVY). Maxion had originally set the debut for Dec. 11 and pushed it back a week.

The game pairs the original MMORPG systems with item ownership on Ronin and a player-driven economy. Pre-registration ran across both regions ahead of the launch.

Launch day carried a Mission Event, a Guild Level Rush and the first season of Monster Hunting. Early joiners picked up a limited-time New Player Welcome Adventure Pack.

A closed beta ran Nov. 20 through 26, 2025.
