In Brief:

  • Parallel (official site) told players they have less than two days to lock a Top-100 spot on the ranked ladder before Thursday’s season rollover.
  • Everyone inside the cut at rollover becomes eligible for Monthly Melee 2, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9.
  • The series carries a bid to the Community Clash Cup, which is why the ladder cutoff matters beyond bragging rights.

Parallel gave players until Thursday’s ladder rollover to finish inside the Top 100 and qualify for Monthly Melee 2, the invitational running Sept. 9.

The deadline is the ranked leaderboard’s monthly settle. Whoever sits in the top 100 when the season flips gets an invite. Whoever doesn’t, doesn’t.

“Players, you have less than TWO days to secure your Top-100 Leaderboard spot! Those who make the cut on Thursday’s season rollover will be eligible for the Monthly Melee 2 event on Wednesday 9/9!” Parallel said in the announcement.

How the qualification works

Monthly Melee is gated entirely on ladder placement from the preceding month. There’s no open registration, no side qualifier and no wildcard WC $0.0003238 ▼ -26.6% path. Finish top 100 or wait for the next cycle.

Seeding inside the bracket also comes off the leaderboard, so a player’s final ladder position determines their draw.

Parallel ran the first edition, MM1, on Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. EST. The field was expanded from 16 to 24 players before the event, and the tournament used a four-round best-of-one Swiss configuration. Registration ran through Echelon’s Versus platform.

What winners get

Parallel advertised customizable prizes for MM1 along with a bid in the CC Cup, the finale of its Community Clash series.

That bid is the piece competitive players care about. Community Clash events are numbered and often format-restricted, with CC7 limiting decks to cards from the Haven set, and strong finishes across the series convert into Cup entries. Monthly Melee gives ladder grinders a separate on-ramp to the same finale without having to run the community circuit.

DualNote won the first one from 28th seed

Parallel credited DualNoteTCG with the inaugural title in the same post, writing “Stick tap to @DualNoteTCG for winning the first-ever MM!”

DualNote is a Parallel Ambassador and finished seventh-eighth at the Parallel Prime World Championship Season 1.

Where Monthly Melee sits in the circuit

Ladder is one of four scoring avenues in Parallel League, alongside Qualifiers, Majors and Opens. Players reach the Grand Finals by accumulating enough league points, by winning a Parallel League event outright, or by taking a seat out of the Last Stand tournament.

League point ties break by event type in the order Major, Ladder, Minor, Open. Complete ties get resolved by a player’s final in-game ladder placement from the previous month, another reason the monthly settle carries weight past the Melee invite itself.

The ladder itself is ELO-based and pays out on-chain PRIME by season. Per-win emissions scale with ladder rank, a Keyframing multiplier from certain Keys, Avatar ownership in a linked wallet, NFT count in the deck and win-streak length. Daily PRIME emissions cap at five wins, with the Core granting one additional PRIME game per day.

Parallel hasn’t published MM2’s field size, round structure or prize breakdown. MM1’s expansion from 16 to 24 seats came the day before that event.

DualNote’s run is the reason the seeding math is worth watching. He entered MM1 sitting 28th on the leaderboard, then beat the players ranked sixth, 10th, 12th and 13th to take the title and the CC Cup spot.
